Merged Spuds & Victims* thread (Put all your scum and Victims* stuff here)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

More details in the BBC report on the corruption up in the Middlesex Marshlands! :barscarf:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66274633

Reminds me of the auld classic, " Spoonful of Sugar helps the Venables go down!" :barscarf:

Don't forget these corrupt "barrow boy" Chas & Dave Mockney feckers got £100million towards their new toilet lid from government . tax / rate payers! :banghead:

"The club received £32 million in funding from the London Development Agency, which was set up by the Mayor of London to support regeneration projects across the city. Tottenham also received £5 million in funding from the Premier League, which was provided to help improve facilities and support community development.

In addition to these grants, Tottenham also received significant tax incentives from the UK government. The club was granted “enhanced capital allowances,” which allowed them to claim back a significant portion of the tax paid on the construction of the stadium. The value of these incentives is estimated to be around £70 million?'

Never more than a few years away from another fraud scandal, that scum, cesspit of a club. Years of fucking corruption all laughed off as "funny old Alan Sugar", "good old man of the people and a bit of a wide-boy Venables" and then that fucking crook Redcrapp "Ooh, look at him, like a Del Boy, trrrriffffic". It's been clear to everyone that that Lewis bloke is a crook and it's taken until now for someone to actually investigate. He's up there with thr Russians in terms of illegally sourced money and has been allowed to keep taking and taking more in tax breaks and funding from the UK tax payer. Fucking scandalous.

I think the days of buying a top flight club and pumping money in are going out of fashion. Unless you're a sovereign wealth fund like the Saudis or Man shitty lot, there's no point because you're not going to stand a chance. Public opinion has also turned against individual owners and it's harder for one owner to provide evidence of their money coming from legal sources than it is for a national wealth fund. There aren't many of the mega wealthy funds left and the money it has cost City and will cost the headchoppers to compete are astronomical. Loom at the money wasted in Paris for absolutely fuck all in reality.
The next stage of ownership is going to be buying a club down the divisions and getting the ego trip and attention that goes with it. Wealthy owners are going to start targeting clubs with decent fan bases in the second or third tier where the initial costs are lower and the impact more immediate. Pouring money into the scum is worthless in so many ways.

A la wrexham - because (like a lot of old stagers) I am fed up with the greed and eye popping amount of money involved in top level football, I am getting drawn more and more to lower level football stories like wrexham. Yes imo it is probably less than a morally clean story cos they are excelling on back of money pumped in by owners (supposedly illegal under ffp rules  ), but I'm old school and like to see good times return to clubs like them who have been downtrodden in recent decades. For their owners there is probably no real money to be made out of it, and when they climb further up the football pyramid they will discover that their wealth is a pittance at top level football, but in the meantime their fans are enjoying the good times and the owners are enjoying the adoration of those fans

And on that note, let's be careful what accusations we write on here about Joe Lewis.

Even if he is a cùnt.

Financial VAR have had a look at it and decided of course that, it doesn't matter when they do it.

Frightening thought

Those were my thoughts exactly IW8. They are prime to be picked up by super rich Arabs or the like and I don't share the view of others that the days of that happening are over. It's only about 18 months ago that the Saudis bought the bar codes isn't it?

The scum are a London club and a state of the art stadium is in place. Very attractive to people looking for a club to buy.

I was always happy with Lewis owning it and Levy running it, because I knew they'd remain in their state of nothingness. My concern, knowing that Lewis was old, was what would happen when he was gone, or decided to sell up. I'm worried.
