I pointed this out many years ago and got hammered but maintain there's defo a correlation to those lefties woke posters who perceive/take offence at nothing being akbs (back then) and now artrta can do know wrongs, with some notable exceptions of course!!

I've also wondered whether objections to Augie calling Arteta a "Basque c.unt" were motivated more by a sensitivity to criticism of Arteta, rather than genuine concerns about racism, or xenophobia. If those concerns were genuine, then they need to be expressed consisitently and that will be tested soon, because I guarantee that it's a matter of time before the new Spurs manager is referred to as an Aussie this or that.

🚨 Arsenal close to agreement with Chelsea to sign Kai Harvertz for fee in region of £65m. Talks ongoing to finalise structure (instalments + add-ons). Personal terms in place & subject to deal being done, medical will be scheduled @TheAthleticFC #AFC #CFC

Can we please go off track again? :cussing:

Much as Havertz hasn't performed especially well at Chelsea this past year or so, who has? The long list of high profile wasters is beyond belief!

Personally under Tuchel I thought he was one of their better players - CL final anyone?

Not saying I'm a huge fan, but I'm prepared to forgive anyone a bad season at Chavski last season given that Aubameyang, Sterling, Koulibaly (the darling of many on here), Kovacic, Cucarella, Pulisic, Fernandez, Ziyech, Mudryk and a whole load of others, proved themselves to be absolutely fucking abysmal too! Surely no coincidence?

Trouble is SyeveO, it's not just last season. I know that this is all about opinions and you thought he was ok under Tuchel, but I've been totally underwhelmed by him for all three seasons. That's a long time and he's entitled to have shown something worth spending this type of money on and I just don't see it. Fuck knows how he's going to cost us more than the chavs paid for him?!

Bottom line, it's way too much money to take a chance on him and he's not what we need. We're long suited in attacking midfielders/number 10s, but don't have a prolific 20+ goals a season striker and he most definitely isn't that.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded at this signing, because it makes zero sense to me on every level. Talk about kill my enthusiasm for the new season in only mid June. Fuck me.

🚨 Arsenal will pay Chelsea £50m in three instalments for Kai Havertz, plus £15m in add-ons, in a total package worth £65m. [@DarrenArsenal1] #afc

🚨Kai Havertz to Arsenal is 90% Done. As per @David_Ornstein the deal is in the final stages. It is my understanding that Kai Havertz will be at London Colney late today or early tomorrow to complete the medical. Also, Jurrien Timber is a lot more advanced than people realise…

If we do sign Havertz then it will tell us that arteta thinks Jesus and Eddie is good enough.

Very worrying

A Greek Australian??!!! Blimey, even worse!! Just wait until the North London derby comes around, there'll be people on here wondering if his wife's beard is as strong as his and calling him Zorba the Ocker.

As for "pig", I'm somewhat offended and will be submitting a whining DM to our dear Mod, so beware his big banning stick. The ignorant I can live with, because it's hard to deny when I call you a f@$*ing Irish c%$t !

You're ok with the term "Irish" aren't you?

Steve O I apologise for going down the stats route here (cos I hate stats based arguments) but in the past THREE SEASONS with the chavs, havertz has scored 7 league goals, 8 league goals and 4 league goals, and yes he scored in champions league final 3 seasons ago, BUT it was his only champions league goal in 12 appearances that season  He hasnt had a bad season last year with the chavs, he has had THREE mediocre seasons with them

If I was to be generous to havertz (and believe me I'm not in his corner at all), I might argue that he is more of a 10 than an out and out striker, and that is all well and good but the reality is that football has changed and the number 10 role as Bergkamp played it no longer exists, and regardless we already have smith-rowe and odeargod to play in that position. We need an out and out striker not to compete with jesus, but to start ahead of jesus and score more goals for the team than jesus will - havertz will NEVER be that guy

Maybe this is the truth about why Havertz? The old instalments thing - reminds me of signing Pepe instead of Zaha when Emery was here. £60m+ up front, or spread over a number of years

It does seem an odd one for sure, especially if we are planning on using him as a striker. Jesus already doesn't score enough, Eddie is hit and miss, and Balogun unproven in the PL.....so taking a chance on someone like Havertz as CF would seem very odd indeed.

So we are signing Timber, Chelsea’s dead wood and axing Partey and Xhaka. Is our new third shirt going to be a lumberjack design?

Signing Chelsea's dead wood is a "saw" point.
