I agree with Augie.
Helb is a fantastic player and is second to none with the ball at his feet.
However, and as great as he is, he does slow our game down.
He's constantly having to cut in from the left, but thats Wengers decision in but a right footed player out on the left. Pires was never fully replaced.
We should see more success with Nasri and Traore this year.

Do we have a video clip of him saying that or did SSN just report that's what he said?! If you can give me a vid clip then I'll shut up and go back to slating him but anyone can write an article saying that someone said something!
I think Hleb gave us quite a good creative spark, he did provide lots of assits whether they were finished or not. When both Hleb and Cesc didn't play in a match we wre competly devoid of any ideas and never ever looked liked scoring if we played for a month!

I can think of loads of players better than Hleb with the ball at their feet. Hleb's never been that good a player for us. He's picked up a bit this season i'll give you that but he still is way off the mark of being good enough for us.
And yes this is the adebayor thread.

As one of Ade's biggest defenders on here early season, I can assure you that I saw the interview on SSN with my own eyes and heard Adebayor say it with my own ears. I've searched the Sky Sports News website and can't find the video, but here is the story:

I agree that media often quote players out of context or even just plain make-up stories but this time they haven't.

looks like we are going to be stuck with him then according to wenger ade denies it?

100% agree, while is certainly a question mark over whether enough of his work actually led to an end product, there is no doubt at all that technically he was exceptional especially at getting out of tight spaces which some might say that he got himself into in the first place but it's also part of our game recently it seems, to draw players to you to create space!Boomer wrote:No I'm not having a laugh.
Sure, there great player with the balls at their feet
I'm not talking Dribbling skills like Ronaldo or Ronaldino all the 'fancy footwork'.
In a tigh area the ball in glued to Helbs feet. His close foot work and tehnical ablitity is why wenger bought him.
