Never a penalty in my book, but overall ( ) England just about deserved the win.
cracking goal from Watkins and I agree with Essex that he shoud start ahead of Kane in the final. Absolutely zero chance of that though.
Still can't stand Southgate, who must be the luckiest manager alive. Always gets easy groups and soft draws in the knock out phase and this Dutch side isn't fit to lace the boots of the great teams that came before them. They've been dreadful in recent years. Other than the first 30 mins in the first match and the first half last night, we've been crap. Seconds from going out against the Slovaks and penalties against the Swiss after an 80th minute equaliser.
Spain in the final is the first top level side that we've faced in the whole competition. We ought to get walloped, but who knows, Red Rum seems to have the gods on his side.
Regardless of the result on Sunday, the muppet in charge has done enough in the minds of the FA and probably most dopey fans, to keep his job and take us to the next WC. Had we lost against Slovakia, he'd be gone. Lucky fucker.
Congratulations to our English viewers! Anything could happen now!
Cheers DB, tbf I've watched very little of the football, it's cricket season for me and I play twice sometimes three times a week,.
I watched most of last night but not all of it, as you know I have a lot on my plate at the moment and watching football internationals is not on my list of priorities.
I do hope we win it though, a lot of that has to do with Rice, Saka and even Ramsdale, it would be great for those guys.
I will be in Benidorm with my girlfriend (who is supporting England now Turkey are out ) when it's on so should be good atmosphere, it won't ruin my holiday if we don't win it
I would like to see Rice smash up Rodri though and Saka roast cuckoorella all night too
Amen old buddy. Would be great for the Arsenal lads.
I hope you have a great well earned holiday in Benidorm mate. Just enjoy it, have a blast, get drunk, have fun.
Shame that Kane is the captain and therefore undroppable because he was a like a fucking monolith last night. I've seen more movement in the Brandenburg Gate. What's his job if he can't/won't run channels and isn't in the box? Just before half time he's out on the right wing and a cross comes into the tower of power that is....5' 6" Foden.
With one of the most mobile and talented attacks in the competition, it's a shame that the starting lineup isn't Foden - Watkins - Saka with Bellingham and Palmer sat behind.
Absolutely. What is it with certain managers that they cannot (or will not?) See what is so obvious and right in front of them? In this case is it buddy buddy loyalty to Fat Tongue? Christ knows. But England are a far better team without him on the pitch.
Honestly if the tottnumb reject plays the final my money is on Spain. But if Borat Features drops him like you suggest I could see England winning it.

Trouble is after last night Southgate will see his “tactics” worked to a tee, when he got totally lucky, and will do it again Sunday,Kane might get you a goal, but if he don’t he’s like Haaland and contributes not much else, and before the naysayers start yelling “but that’s what good strikers do” we have Saka and Foden trying to cross a ball to no one, because Kane has dropped deep to get involved, trouble is Kane isn’t going to come on with 10:to go and run past defenders like Watkins can,so Southgate has sort of made his own bed now,and we’ll start with the same team as the Holland game (although I’d start shaw over Shittier)

Cheers mate, I can certainly tick those boxes off with very little effort

Not the first or last time managers make weird decisions. Keegan not taking Muzzy Izzet, who was like some sort of walking left-wing highlights reel at the time, to Euro 2000 and shoehorning Dennis Wise in at the leftside was just mental.
Ollie Watkins, what a great goal. Saka's was better but never mind about that.
Just to get to the final (for the second time in a row) is a brilliant achievement.
A brilliant achievement!!!! They beat Serbia Slovakia Switzerland(on pens) Holland and drew with Denmark and Slovenia. They stank the joint out.I hope Spain smash them

I think Ernie is another of us that isn't too keen on Southgate.
First off I don't think there ever was any realistic chance that we might try and sign Ollie Watkins; though I genuinely believe he would be the perfect fit as the main striker in our current squad. if IF that had ever been the remotest of chances; that is now well and truly GONE! After is goal for ingerland last night .
If he (Watkins) was playing instead of FatCuntyTongue then they'd have a chance against espanol, but with the fatdawdling diving cheating cuntslop up front it reduces the chances of an Ingerland win significantly.

Cucurella is so timid. He gets the ball and has acres to drive into and just lays it off and back pedals to the back 4.
Jordi Alba he ain't.
Agreed but he's a sly dirty fucker who seems to get away with a lot of blatant fouls, he will try and get something on Saka for sure but I reckon Saka will expose his lack of positional awareness.
100% Lefty... The dirtyCunt kicked chunks out of Saka when we played the Chavs towards the close of season and the ref did sweet fuck all.

Me and the missus call it England Manager Syndrome. It afflicts every single one of them. Making fucking baffling decisions that no sane person would consider.
I have no doubt that back in the day a lot of it was driven by fear of the press At times the press would hound the manager to play certain players and then vilify the manager when it went to shit.
Graham Taylor made some appalling howlers like playing Gordon Cowans for Gascoigne due to the apparent state of the pitch, I think it was his only cap but as he played at Villa under Taylor... but he was a clogger.... apparently Cowans is in care due to worsening Alzheimers at the age of 65, probably brought on by continual heading of a pigs bladder
Southgate is right up there though like not taking a fully fit left back leading to having to play Trippier who can only pass backwards
What I couldn't understand in the Holland game was his decision to change the formation at half time. I've never been a 5 at the back fan, but the system was working very well and that first half was the best we'd played all tournament (not a high bar to clear, but anyway). It wasn't quite the traditional back 5 system, because he had Saka pushed forward most of the time, but whatever, the set up seemed to suit the team.
Ok, the Dutch saw they were being outnumbered in midfield and changed their system shortly before half time, but England were still playing well. Red Rum then reverted to 4 at the back for the second half, I assume to counter their altered system and we looked as duff as we'd looked in previous games. There was no need to change the set up and it was clear that changing it had no positive effect at all.
Southgate is short on courage I'm afraid. terrified of getting it wrong and therefore almost never gets it right. Of course, it doesn't help that he's a Championship manager at best.
Part of me thinks that he has so much luck, that we just might fluke it on Sunday, but then my rational brain kicks in and thinks we'll lose by minimum 2 and maybe 3. Dunno. Far more bothered about the Arsenal tbh.
