So take whatever a buying club offers for our players and pay whatever a selling club wants when we want to buy a player.

Shrewd, very shrewd.
When there a liability yes. Eddie is a liability. He offers nothing whatsoever and is like playing with 10 men. He's taking the place of someone who could offer something.

ESR was sold cheap we are doing the opposite here.

Give him away. 23m is amazing.

The smith-rowe deal is what highlights the lunacy in our negotiation tactics here - outside of nketieh's immediate family there isnt one person anywhere who would suggest that nketieh is better than smith-rowe, and yet we are playing hardball over nketieh after giving away smith-rowe for a pittance ??? Ridiculous. Plus you also need to factor in that the premier league is the money league so when you are selling a player to premier league club that is where you try to squeeze every last penny from the deal cos you know how much they are getting every season in tv money, where as marseille would be paupers in comparison

Looks like we fucked up a good £27m deal for a striker worth less than £12m. Now we’re fucking stuck with the useless no-mark cùnt.
Exactly. He contributes nothing to the team and as Mantis said, he's taking up a place in the squad that could be used by someone who does.

Looks like we might be stuck with that useless twat Nketiah... FFS :banghead:

I think we should try and get Conor Gallagher from the Chavs... A "Battler" in mid-field can play both attack and defence :?

Careful though, we'll have the cultists jumping all over us telling us we know nothing about football because we don't believe The Lord of The Cusp is infallible.

So do you believe that its Arteta who sets the price, negotiates with Marsaille ( or whoever) and ultimately decides at what point any bid is accepted ?

That’s what we have a team in place to do from Edu downwards -Arteta has nowhere near the amount of control as our previous lord and master Wenker

We have done horrendously for well over a decade in terms of selling players. I suspect Edu is trying to change that. Selling established English first team players for peanuts is not going to help us reinvest in the squad. We want a bit more for Nketiah than the £17m they intially offered. I am not aware that they have gone as high as £27m. I’m pretty sure Marseille is a basket case and haven’t got a pot to piss in. I wouldn’t believe everything you read in the papers. Other clubs are interested in Nketiah.

Whatever we might think about Smith Rowe's value we've got no idea how much another club is willing to offer. Also as I said before, why are only Fulham (sorry, Fulham) the only team that are interested?

They can't accept an offer that they haven't had. There's no reason why the club (as a business) wouldn't want to get as much for him as possible, so why assume that they could've done so?

After reading some of the 'stories' in the media I'm thinking Alvarez has just started rumours to get Pep to play him more, and has no intention of leaving.

I’ve heard that Watkins wants to come to us and will do at some point. Not necessarily this Summer, which I would say is unlikely. Arteta rates him. Which is not exactly a surprise.

He’s 28. If it isn’t now then what’s the point?

If Arsenal went for a 29 yo Watkins I'd be amazed! Strikers are pretty much finished at 31yo so it would be a waste of money unless we got him for free.

Can't see it being Watkins , too old , costs a lot and no resale value.
Not the way we work . We buy prospects ,bribe them to come with high wages and when they don't work out get stuck with them.

If we seriously offer 70-80m for City reject Alvarez, I will seriously lose my shit! We could get Osimhen for 85m supposedly FFS!

He's obsessed with buying Chavs and City rejects! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Osimhen is gash. I’d be furious if we went for him, especially at £85m. It’d be Pepe levels of stupidity
