Looks like we fucked up a good £27m deal for a striker worth less than £12m. Now we’re fucking stuck with the useless no-mark cùnt.
Exactly. He's a fucking useless cùnt.

Careful though, we'll have the cultists jumping all over us telling us we know nothing about football because we don't believe The Lord of The Cusp is infallible.
So do you believe that its Arteta who sets the price, negotiates with Marsaille ( or whoever) and ultimately decides at what point any bid is accepted ?

That’s what we have a team in place to do from Edu downwards -Arteta has nowhere near the amount of control as our previous lord and master Wenker
Stu, thanks for taking the time to patronise me there. I know you've been busy patronising everyone else that doesn't yet think Arteta is Jesus Christ, so thanks for that. Its nice to feel included.

Yeah I think everyone is aware that Edu and a team of people negotiate etc. No shit Sherlock. But what I do not believe is anyone at the club apart from Arteta makes the final decision as to when and whether a player is sold or bought.

It's such a flip of a coin whether a player is a success or a flop, huh?

If we seriously offer 70-80m for City reject Alvarez, I will seriously lose my shit! We could get Osimhen for 85m supposedly FFS!

He's obsessed with buying Chavs and City rejects! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I wouldnt lose my shit if we signed alvarez, but I would be very wary about signing him too - wary to the point that I wouldnt sign him tbh. It is easier to look like a quality player at citeeh when opposition defences are focused on haaland, de bruyne, foden etc, plus we really only have a small sample size to analyse cos he is a back up there. The flip side of course is that haaland is the best number 9 in football at the mo, so being back up to him should be no reflection on his ability. Again what it comes down to for me is my total opposition to signing reject players from clubs that are supposed to be our rivals - yes I hear the argument that pep doesnt want to sell him and alvarez is pushing this, but the reality is that if pep seriously rates this kid, then he should be telling his bosses to sell him if they have to but not to a rival club, so if he allows him come to us then that tells me he isnt worth buying

Ollie Watkins is a good striker no doubt, but this thought process that he will join us but not this summer is a big no no to me - we need a quality striker NOW, so if he wants to join us, and IF we want to sign him, then he has to push to do so now or forget about it. Personally I would want a number 9 with a more forceful demeanour tbh - watkins strikes me as a good lad and a good team-mate, but I want a number 9 who is more demanding of his midfielders and demands the ball earlier instead of allowing the likes of odeargod to take half a dozen touches before releasing the ball. To play as the main striker at a top club you need imo to be the type of personality who when he walks into a room his cock is already in there 5 mins (I remember hearing that phrase in a movie once) - watkins, jeus and havertz dont have that personna but Ian Wright had it in spades and that is what we need for this team cos we have a lack of strong personalities imo. Toney or Osimhen would be better options imo

A lot of talk about bringing in another winger (cant have enough of them  ) but for some strange reason we havent been linked with Cheisa who juve are pushing out the door - he is a great player imo and would probably be a lot cheaper than neto for example

🚨 Arsenal are re-assessing their forward options in the transfer market after Newcastle made it clear that Alexander Isak would NOT be sold. Mikel Arteta only wanted high-quality players who had specific traits for that position, which Isak fits exactly.

With that type of forward rare on the market, Arteta is instead more looking for a wide forward who can come inside rather than an outright #9. Pedro Neto is highly-rated, but there is a natural weigh-up about the price against his injury record.

Arsenal have shown they are willing to spend big, but only if the player is exactly right. Declan Rice was seen in that mould - so was Isak, but Newcastle are determined to keep the player this summer. [@MiguelDelaney] #afc

Would Fabien Ruiz be available now that psg have signed joao neves ? In my opinion he would be a far better option than merino for what I would call a crucial position

Osimhen is gash. I’d be furious if we went for him, especially at £85m. It’d be Pepe levels of stupidity
On a side note I see he's joined Villarreal on a free transfer from wherever he was.

That sounds like a deliberate wumming comment to me

Once he gets gametime, barring injury, he'll be at a big club again within two years max. And we will look back on a genuine one that got away.
