ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

One is a speculative statement and one is a statement of fact. Which is it?
I think you need to get back to English comprehension lessons.
I think you need to go back into exile. :rubchin:
Do you understand how a transfer deal works? Or are we supposed to order players off Amazon? It’s going to be done ok.
Seems like that way for Chelsea

Tbh IW8, that’s what has always pissed me off with the Arsenal and talking about as long as I can remember. We ALWAYS fuck about with transfer negotiations.

No one’s saying we need to be as scattergun as Chelsea and end up with forty odd players in the squad, but it wouldn’t hurt to target a player and then get it done quickly. It’s not as though taking an age over negotiations saves us money, as the fees for Pepe and Rice show. What it does is piss off the selling club and make the player question to what degree we want him. Don’t pay ridiculously over the odds, but don’t haggle over small differences. If you’re paying 5 million more than you want for a top player, then get it done and get him in the squad and training.

We quibble and haggle, then often lose the player and end up paying too much for a second best bloke.

We can’t even sell players without a fight and then stupid fucking loan deals.

False economy.

Sounds like Eddie is likely to go so well have to sign a replacement if it happens.....but who?

Hopefully not Gyokeres...... Maybe a cheeky last day 40m bid for Toney??
There aren't many 'cheap' options and it feels like we'll go cheap. Probably some overrated player from the Dutch or French league

Knowing us and our transfer dept they’ll identify this lad at Marseille that looks super qualitee and we’ll get him last thing on deadline day, queue up the welcome video of the feather in a beret with a ring of garlic round his neck.

We seem quite incompetent, in contrast to other clubs, to get things done efficiently and without fuss. Selling seems to be even worse; we sell top class players for peanuts and talk ourselves out of good deals for shite players.

It’s a fucking clown show.

Does he do that ‘celebration’ because 9 times out of 10 he lets teams off the hook ?

( Old school phone reference for the youngsters )

Given how he plays I always assumed he called the wrong fucking number.

Media are now saying that nketieh to marseille is likely to be a season long loan with an obligation to buy next summer - fcuk that shit. Sell him now for 5m less than you intended to sell him for, and use the money to bring in a top quality goalscorer ffs

We're trying to sell Nketiah for more than ESR and English players supposedly have a premium in the EPL....

Can't be Toney, mate. :belfastboy:

USWilsonTrump2.0 has it on good authority if we sign Toney we'll end up with 12 strikers just standing there waiting for crosses, because that's what happens in football if you sign a striker, apparently.

:suicide:

Same old story I'm afraid. We never go big for the player that is obviously needed. Without a proven goal scorer I think we will struggle to finish top 4. We sign hopefuls (or 'develop our youth' )and put them on big salaries which is why we have trouble moving them on, we just don't learn.
Oh and what a surprise ESR scores on his debut. Couldn't have predicted that could we!!!!
Hang your head in shame Arteta. You are clueless.
