Minimal cheating to aid their Abu Dhabi paymasters. Make small decisions that don't appear to have a massive impact but just enough to do something. Like having a computer programme stealing a pound every second from a company. Hard to spot but does enough damage in the long term. No need to do anything big and obvious.

Two issues here -

1. pedro kicked it away in first half and ref done nothing

2. when pedro kicked it away, the cone boy and his invisible captain led the complaints for the ref to take action against pedro - when you do that then you better make sure your own players dont kick the ball away at all

rice did kick the ball away so he can have no complaints tho

I've never seen anyone booked for toe poking it one yard ffs. That's not kicking the ball away.

That’s the issue here.

Rule book doesnt say the ball has to be kicked a certain distance to be classed as kicking it away - rice intentionally stopped quick free kick and we all know it. The problem here isnt that rice was punished, its that no-one else is getting punished for things we are punished for (I'm including tommy getting booked for slow throw in last season)
