What a pair of muppets, If thats their level of red card then may as well just not play, for all of Porro's antics and screaming he seemed perfectly fine 2 minutes later and saw out the game.

Fuck both of them

Very embarrassing from those two. Merse is always looking for his viral moment and of course sick note Redknapp couldn’t handle a tackle.xgtdec wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:45 pmJamie Redknapp and Paul Merson both believe Arsenal's Jurrien Timber was "lucky" and "fortunate" to stay on the pitch after his "reckless" challenge in the first half of the North London derby at Tottenham.

Wright and Hoddle said they didn’t think it was even a yellow and it’s a well known technique in football and Timber barely touched Porro who was clearly play acting.

Watched this in a boozer in Palmers Green (PM me for the name, I’m in there regularly if anyone local fancies a pint) and it was majority Spurs in there (a few ain’t awful. Embrace the rivalry but not bad fellas beyond it) so it was fucking lovely celebrating the goal and every tackle forthwith with pure pride (yes I was decked out in the colours
).
Post game was a laugh with a few of them. Honest assessments about the game etc.
I woke up hoping for a draw, due to the midfield issue, walking away fucking BEAMING. Doing them at theirs (three years on the trot, I believe) is fucking brilliant.
ARSENAL! ARSENAL!

Pissed me off at the time. What a load of nonsense, a red for standing on the ball? Some of the bookings for both teams were harsh, far too many reds/second yellows these days for things that don’t merit the punishment (of impacting the current game and missing the next game, like rice the other week)xgtdec wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:45 pmJamie Redknapp and Paul Merson both believe Arsenal's Jurrien Timber was "lucky" and "fortunate" to stay on the pitch after his "reckless" challenge in the first half of the North London derby at Tottenham.

Anyway, 3 points again away in the NLD! Happy days

The defender had Saka covered.
Had Odegaard been playing we would have had a late runner coming into the box , had he passed to Saka it would have been cleared . Just wish that he'd hit it harder.
As for our goal Havertz run took two players out of the middle and left more room for Gabriel.
Little things but the Partey /Jorginho middle was exposed and that's where our real problems were.

I like Timber, firm and solid in the duels despite the early booking, and unfazed 1v1. Apparently it’s the joint highest number of cards for the first half of a PL game. At times, the occasion looked too big for the Aussie ref and he didn’t help himself with the early flurry of yellow cards.

Merson and Wright, as players, will forever be legends. As pundits - morons.xgtdec wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:45 pmJamie Redknapp and Paul Merson both believe Arsenal's Jurrien Timber was "lucky" and "fortunate" to stay on the pitch after his "reckless" challenge in the first half of the North London derby at Tottenham.

I said that at the time, not even a yellow, let alone a red.

He did indeed.
Martinelli could possibly have carried the ball another yard or two, but can't blame him for taking a shot. It was the quality of the effort that was weak.
