From Give Me Sport:-
The Gunners were heavily linked with a new wide forward arrival before the new season and were reportedly considering Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, before they opted for a late loan move for Sterling.
Just how wrong is that? Jeez!
Jeeeezzusss H.... Sad thing is I can well believe it. :banghead:

I still stand by my belief that williams is another theo walcott - all pace and no brains  Again I will say that regardless he should NOT be allowed sign another winger before he signs a quality number 9 - signing a winger cos we lack depth on wings is redundant when we dont have a quality striker in the starting 11 even when everyone is fit, and my belief has always been that you build squad depth only AFTER you have a strong starting 11

Buy more wingers so they can play more balls along the edge of the six yard box. We're the only team in the world who have a perfect passing record of one winger reaching the other winger because there's never anybody in the middle to do anything with it.

The problem with this window is we all know that IF we sign anyone of note that it won't happen till the last minute of the last day, by then it may well be too late.

Hopefully they've already got the signings we need firmly tapped up and ready to sign in the next few days, yeah yeah I know

Everything that I have heard about this transfer window said that we are going to be reactive rather than proactive. That means no signings unless we get some out the door first, just like the summer window was.

That would be ok if the cone boy wised up and allowed the club to get rid of some of his favourites - partey, zinchenko and jesus could bring in a few quid and be easily replaced imo, but shit for brains wont let them go

I was online earlier and a link came up suggesting that we are in a good position re FFP and can splash the cash this month if we want

BBC Football:

Arsenal lead the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, 25, amid interest from Liverpool, Paris St-Germain and AC Milan.

The Gunners have considered a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, but are unwilling to pay more than £25m for the 27-year-old England international.

Representatives of Man Utd have approached Sporting Lisbon to try and sign Viktor Gyokeres in the January window... the deal would cost upward of 80Million..

Surely we should at least test the waters, Yes he's been managed by Amorim, but we are a far better option to win something before them!? Even if it causes them to have to pay more do it anyway... who knows he might prefer to come to us!

I can say with absolute certainty that we will not be signing rashford this month - the reason why I am so confident is that by premier league rules we cannot have more than 2 premier league players on loan so we cant loan him, and I dont see us splashing that much money on such a risky signing this month. I still believe that there is a quality footballer in rashford, but at the same time I do wonder if his head is gone past the point of no return now, and nobody will be able to get him back focused again.

What manu are going to find out fast imo, is that no club will splash out such a big fee on a risky signing like rashford this month - the best they can hope for (again imo) is a 6 month loan with an obligation to buy if certain criteria are met (goals and appearances), but again that would rule us out. I suspect that maybe the shammers (no bowen or antonio for foreseeable) and the spurs scum might try to get him on loan

Is that what they call a Counter-jinx?

More rumours about us making a (January window) move for Eintracht Frankfurt's Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, 25.

But they weren't on Twitter so they can't be true.

I never understand what these fucking clauses are all about. If you agree to pay the release clause, does that mean you get the player at that price as long as you can agree the infamous 'personal terms'?
