Merino hasn't impressed so far that's true, but lads it's far too early to write him off. He might come good. Let's hope so.

Now, before I'm completely misquoted, no I'm not saying he is brilliant and no I'm not saying he is shit. We have not seen enough of him on the pitch regularly to make that call.

What the fuck is the matter with you?! Stop equivocating, this is the Online Gooner, so is he brilliant or shit ffs???

I'm going for shit.

Karen Carney looks like she’s just had a quick sniff in the toilets
She looks like one of those scouser skanks who does BJ's in the Car Park for a bag of chips
I bet she has a fishy snatch

Solid. Not sure about Marino either. Sorry - yes I am - he's crap. Good to see the young Eathen get a decent run. Great left foot. Did OK :D :D :barscarf: :barscarf:

I keep saying it but Timber knows how to do the job and loves a scrap. Reads the game well, keeps it calm.

In some ways he reminds me of Gilberto Silva by the way that he never seemed to do much yet pops up in the right places . Gilberto was also subjected to the "" not sure "" comments but when he got injured and was missing for about 6 weeks things fell apart .
I am falling into the good squad player category.

I was never a fan of Gilberto. Almost another Xhaka imo. A liability on many occasions and I still maintain that he cost us the CL in 2006. Take a look at the pass he fires at Hlebb (I think from memory), which was impossible to control and led to the break away on our goal. Sure, it was a poor decision by Lehman to bring the striker down, but it all starts with Gilberto.

He was another that benefited from playing alongside PV4, who made every midfield partner look 3 times the player they were. I could have played alongside Paddy and stood there scratching my arse and watching as he dominated central midfield on his own. An absolute colossus and selling him was the beginning of the end of Wenger’s reign.

Gilberto was a great player for Arsenal.

To blame him for the 2006 is madness

Lehmann for taking the player down
Henry for missing chance after chance
Wenger for changing a solid defence
Wenger for taking off Pires
Wenger for not bringing bergkamp on

Take a look at his pass to Hlebb.

Never rated him regardless of that. Can’t think many would describe him as “great”. Opinions I guess.

"Opinions' Huh!?

I remember that whenever Gilberto was out injured (or suspended... which was rare)... (*) We Missed him Badly...For me he could be Relied upon, which let's be fair is not something that can be said about many of today's players.

(*) I DO remember when we were playing away at Blackburn that UberCunt and Waste of oxygen Robbie Savage feigning injury after Gilberto 'tapped' him with his foot whilst he (Gilberto) was lying on the ground to get him sent off... It was really early in the game if I recall correctly. Savage went down like a Whore in a Brothel.

WE went on to Win by a couple of goals.... But without Gilberto our midfield just looked 'Weak'.

I agree with retro I never rated him and the time and thought we could do much better. He wasn't bad but was not a patch on others before him imo, petit especially.

I understand others think he was great but personally never saw it and shat myself whenever he took a penno but think TBF he was quite reliable
