I havent seen the replay where saliba apparently gets the ball before contacting with their player, but I still dont think it was a penalty even if he didnt touch the ball. The decision that I highlighted in first half where he didnt give us advantage and didnt book their player was another shocker, and like rodders I was literally shouting/screaming at the tv when he gave us no free for the same challenge on martinelli that he had penalised calafiori for literally 30 seconds before that - how in gods fcuking name can you have two identical incidents within a minute and give two different decisions ??

But our performance was as bad as the referee's - we were playing against a team that hadnt won in 8 games (I'm told) and yet we backed off when we had our foot on their throat. We have a mentality weakness that runs from the manager to the players and into (some) fans, and it angers me tbh

Another way of looking at it, if Legohead was a scouse agent sent to ensure a scouse league title, he’d be doing an almost perfect job, that in itself should be grounds for booting him.

And if nwaneri is gone too, his squad depth is not just going to bite, but it’ll clamp down and lock.

Just looked at that a few times more and it's clear that Saliba heads the ball first. Clear and indisputable. So why didn't the VAR cûnts look at it properly with all the replays that they should be looking at? They can't get away with it now because I'm seconds, someone with the same technology and a Twitter account will highlight it and show them up for being corrupt or incompetent. The club need to be highlighting this and the Premier League need to explain why their officials are time and time again either incompetent or corrupt.

Agree with all that. I don’t think Arteta is a “bad” coach, but he’s out of his depth now. In an ideal world he’d get a handshake for a decent job and pop off to a smaller club to improve his skills and learn some variation. But we all know this ends in a couple of years with us finishing 6th or 7th, Odegard gone to Madrid, and Arteta getting sacked.

I knew someone would come out with the “but he wasn’t in midfield” lame excuse. If you read what I wrote then you’ll see I was talking about his distribution. The most straightforward of passes are underhit, overhit, or most of all misplaced to the opposition. Wherever he’s playing on the pitch is irrelevant, his passing stinks. In fact, you get more time as a full back than in centre mid, but he misplaces balls when he’s not under pressure. It’s a disgrace and fully on Arteta that Partey is still at the club. Should have been sold 2 summers ago when we could have got a reasonable fee for him.

Sorry, but if you didn’t think he was that bad then I can’t help you. All I’ll say is re-watch the game and examine every involvement of his. His passing in the first half particularly was embarrassingly dire.
