I was truly gutted when Smith-Rowe left us but for all of his benefits the difference between him and Odegaard is he is much more static and in no way equal in closing down defenders high up the pitch.
That is Odegaard's main contribution to the way that Arteta's system works. Going forward however his effectiveness has dropped without Saka and White giving him the first time pass that he needs to move the ball quickly . That why he is often seen going round in circles looking for a pass as our forwards { Havertz , Trossard and Sterling ) are too slow and easily marked .
His game depends on others moving and when they don't he is negated , as always it comes down to those in front of him ,
Yesterday Nwaneri stole the show with direct running but that cuts Odegaard out of the development , instead of getting the one two's and slippy passes he was cut out of and reduced to a less influential role .
It will be interesting to see what happens when Saka comes back.

Jesus they get all the decisions. They reckon we are housing at set pieces. Their centre backs are like the Kray Brothers bullying their way round every game.

Carragher is a weasel isn’t he? Konate having to be subbed off as he keeps getting away with blatant second yellows. Scum.

Absolute joke of a penalty.
Konate should be off.
The ref is more interested in booking Wolves for protesting than the Liverpool players committing the foul.

Honestly, what is the point of other teams actually bothering to compete when we get shit like this year after year. Refs clearly deal with their games in a different way just like they used to for years with manure. Let them get away with things that would be two yellows for every other team, especially us. Absolutely disgusting. Year after year. Refs don't want to send them off because they are terrified of the abuse and threats they get from their murdering scum supporters. Cheating, cowardly cûnts.

If you watch closely any tactical yellow they commit sees the perpetrator go down supposedly injured. MacAllister is the prime example. He gets away with the yellow every time. Complete shysters from 1 to 11. The refs are so fucking naive they let them get away with it every time. As has been said, we get pinged for nothing challenges and are sent off. They don’t even get the yellow in the first place. Van Dijk and Konate are literally pushing players a couple of yards at set pieces such is the force of the push. Nothing given. Van Dijk holding players back from scoring. Nothing. Elbows. Nothing. Pulling players back mid break. Nothing. It’s a complete joke. And yet we have reputation for shit housing this season, rather than them.

No-one ever calls them out on anything because they just send abuse and death threats to every broadcaster or journalist that says anything even remotely critical. I remember reading a piece a few years back from a journalist who said that he'd written about Heysel and why the dippers expect attention for Hillsborough but ignore that. He basically said that they've prevented anyone ever asking questions about their behaviour at Hillsborough and that it's fair to question certain things. He them said he'd had endless threats, death threats, phone calls to his place of work and home and his home address published online. Then they have the whole boycott shit about anything they don't like or don't agree with and the press are afraid to deal with them for fear of the abuse. Think about their booing of the national anthem at every event and nobody ever criticises that or says that they're having an allocation cut which is in-line with FA policy. Why, because they don't want to deal with the consequences and hate-campaigns. They've acted like complete cûnts for decades now and the authorities don't want to act. It's just fucking pathetic how obvious it all is yet nothing is ever done about it.
