PSV should never have been a category A game in the first place. And in light of the result in Eindhoven, it isn’t even category C. Just greed on the part of Arsenal. Sorry for anyone trying to shift their ticket via TX as it’s unlikely they will sell, but have to do so to not fall foul of the attendance criteria.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 5:20 pmThere are literally thousands of tickets available on the ticket exchange for next Wednesday![]()
I was tempted but then when you see the prices (£100+ for what is effectively a non match) I thought NO![]()
Good to see people no longer prepared to pay stupid money for these matches
Getting tickets

Re: Getting tickets
I did enquire about hospitality for PSV the other day, Received a call earlier today telling me it was selling fast (ha ha), but they would give me a 23% discount to take the price down to £420 each. Still about £400 too much for me

You do get to play the actual game up front though.

Re: Getting tickets
Champion Travel advertising club level tickets the Real Madrid game at €1300 plus, throw in a bed in the Maldron Finsbury Park and it goes up to €1700 approx..
I was given a gift of a club level package for my 60th birthday by my family. It was the Newcastle game last year. Great tickets but a rip off in terms of value for money. They throw in a drinks & food voucher and that makes it legitimate apparently.
I emailed the club asking why this company are allowed charge what they like for these packages. As in doubling or trebling prices for certain games. Their answer was basically that these companies serve a need for overseas supporters who have no access to tickets. The company owns the tickets so they can do what the like with them.
But if those overseas supporters bought a ticket on the street they could face prosecution. Or if a supporter attempted to sell a ticket they would also face prosecution.

The premier league clubs should stop pandering to them.
Cant they just watch football in their own countries?
It’s bad enough supporters travelling all over the country to watch a team, but I have very little time for anyone flying around the world to watch us. There needs to be local identity, otherwise we might as well just play our league matches all around the world at different venues.

Re: Getting tickets
That's an old argument Rob and in the sense of football tourism I agree with you. The mass hysteria created by Sky and other broadcasters over the Premier League created new a market place for "fans" and to further enhance that these" fans" had to latch onto a club. A lot of times this is a false passion but for some it becomes real over time.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:39 pmI’m quite frankly fed up with “overseas” fans.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:13 pmChampion Travel advertising club level tickets the Real Madrid game at €1300 plus, throw in a bed in the Maldron Finsbury Park and it goes up to €1700 approx..

I'm not from London, but I am a passionate Arsenal supporter and have been from the early 70s. I don't see my birthplace as a negative as an Arsenal supporter. However I do get what you are saying about pandering to overseas fans. I see it as pandering to overseas money. The occasional visitor to Highbury or the Emirates is more likely to spend a lot more on merchandise in the club outlets than the local supporter.
I do watch football in my own country, I am a season ticket holder at my local club. However I have no real passion for them, going to the Friday night games is more of a hobby. Win, lose or draw I go home and don't overthink or overly worry about the result.
The answer Arsenal FC gave me about Champion Travel or such companies isn't necessarily accurate either. For example the last game of last season with a chance to win the title, many local Red or Silver members who were unlucky in the ballots would also have been tempted.

Reminds me of a post we had on here years ago from some little wánker giving it the big one about only following your "local club". Turned out he lived in Enfield and significantly closer to tottnumb than Arsenal.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:39 pmI’m quite frankly fed up with “overseas” fans.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:13 pmChampion Travel advertising club level tickets the Real Madrid game at €1300 plus, throw in a bed in the Maldron Finsbury Park and it goes up to €1700 approx..

What's "local identity" Rob? Were you born in N5? Have you lived there your whole life? How far out does "local" stretch in your mind? Highbury? Islington? Holloway? Just as far as your street or house?

Basically I’m just pushing back against the tourists who are “flying” into the country for matches. There has been an increasing number in recent years, and I do think it
A) has made it harder for people living here to get a ticket
B) has made those tickets more expensive
Ideally the club has the vast majority of its supporters living in north London, but I agree those days are long gone.
Although I live in London, I appreciate that a lot of our committed and loyal supporters live far away from the capital. That’s fair enough, it’s those living abroad I’m aiming criticism at. If the trend continues, then overseas league matches will become inevitable. Why upgrade the Emirates - might as well just play in different stadiums around the world.
