ADEBAYOR - THE ONE AND ONLY OFFICIAL THREAD!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Tbh Ade hasn't done that much wrong, yes he is being greedy asking for 120k, but his is just the same as all of us. And the same for any other footballer leaving for financial benifit. We are all in the same boat, just that they are in a different league.

I really hate hearing that excuse!! :banghead:  Not everyone is purely money-motivated and there are examples of players turning down big-money moves and staying loyal to their club.

Agreed. At that level when does it stop being "concern for my future" and start becoming "I'm a greedy bastardhole"? If you are earning (let's just say) 80000 a week, do you really need another 5000 a week?

No you don't but money talks and will always talk. They have no affiliation towards the club so it's meaning less to them.

Agreed. And in Ade's case it's not just the greed: he is fucking thick if he thinks he's already an A grade player - if he wants to reach that level, he needs to stay where is he is for at least a couple more seasons, learning for example how not to get caught offside so often.

And there's also the question of how a player goes about things. His conduct this summer has been shite, and as a result I don't think he'll ever recover the goodwill he had from Arsenal fans. Fair enough if a player wants to go, but trying to stiff the club and the manager who have put him where he is by puclicly agitating for a move or tripled wages just after he's signed a new contract means he deserves zero respect.

Fabregas is the perfect example, but there are few and far between.
