ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Is a new 9 really the answer to our problems?
We scored a shed load of goals the year before.
Liverpool don't have a prolific 9. PSG haven't a typical 9. City have one and it did them no good this year.
I think our problems elsewhere need addressing.
This year Saka was injured a lot, Odegaard's form was poor but really I think for the past few years we haven't gotten enough out of Martinelli.
His numbers have not been good enough for a topside so honestly it's the LW I'd be looking to upgrade on.
We should have gone for Kvaratskhelia.

Just when I was thinking our ex-Gk Martinez who went to the Villains couldn't possibly be a More Loathsome Cũnt. it now looks like he is dumping the Villains to go to Manure... What an Odious Prick he is.

That's exactly what I thought - he has the confidence/arrogance players need to thrive at a big club, but he has the habit of letting in a few howlers every season

Another reject, when will they learn, if Chelsea are will to sell, we shouldn’t be the buyers. Absolutely amateur mindset from Legohead an comcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 3:09 pmArsenal set to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as back up to David Raya with Chelsea to receive £5m, as @TheAthleticFC called.

I’m not against this one, to be honest. If he’s willing to play second fiddle and then out for cup games and lesser European games then I’m fine with it. £5m for a ‘keeper with years of top level experience and willing to play the understudy role (with a view of competing with Raya). Decent business.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 3:09 pmArsenal set to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as back up to David Raya with Chelsea to receive £5m, as @TheAthleticFC called.

Better than brining in another carthorse and only playing him once. That’s no ding to Neto - I’ve always thought Neto was competent (at Barcelona and at Bournemouth) but we signed him far too late in his career and his one game (criminal he didn’t play some of the lesser games more, tbh) was far from awe inspiring but I think Arteta did him wrong by not given him more of a chance.
Either way, if we do sign Kepa then I wish him well and hope he provides good competition for Raya.

Ol Legohead would have a field day! He’d whip out a light bulb and probably bring on Win the Dog for Havertz, because he has the power of love on his side.
Fucking dog shagging bastard that he is!

Not sure how anyone can be against the kepa deal unless blind hatred for everything the club does clouds judgement!
He's a decent keeper, and at 5m it's a no brainer. He could really push Raya as he showed at Bournemouth he's definitely no mug.
Deal makes sense on all levels unless we are paying him 300k a week!

He took a paycut to join Bournemouth on loan,so hopefully same for us, decent GK, 5m was a no brainer, considering at 1 stage we might have paid 20/25m for Juan Garcia to be a No 2.
