Sporting no longer have to pay a 10% agent commission, which was required in their original €70m+€10m asking price.
The removal of this has allowed Arsenal to pay a lower fixed fee, while Sporting receive the same funds, due to not having to deduct a now waived commission.

Am I being bad minded or have the club (finally) agreed to Sporting's demands partly to distract our attention from the Fact that the Madueke signing was getting far more negativity than they'd envisaged? From what I have seen on the various media platforms the majority of Gooners are slagging off the club! (So it's not just us!)
And should quell some disquiet on here re. Striker (I'm all for disquiet about madueke fcking fcknfck fck)
But felt the disquiet over the striker not being signed was a bit daft given how heavily the rumours were
