Arsenal are weighing up whether to bid for German midfield star Bastian Schweinsteiger and are prepared to bid against Juventus to secure the 24 year old midfielder's signature

Schweinsteiger who has failed to hold down a place at German champions Bayern Munich has just one year left on his contract and with no new contract offer forthcoming a move for the player who could be bought at a knocked down price is imminent from Juventus and this has alerted Arsenal who had been told earlier in the summer that the player would not leave Bayern, that seems to have changed now.

Schweinsteiger has consistently starred for his national team and was used regularly in the Euro 2008 campaign albeit more as a sub, he is an attacking midfielder and would be seen as an ideal replacement for Hleb who has left Arsenal for Barcelona.

The cost will not be substantial due to the fact the Schweinsteiger contract is fast coming to an end and Bayern do not want to see another one of their midfielder go to a club on a free as Ballack did when he joined Chelsea but neither will they let him go for next to nothing and Bayern are happy to start an auction for a young player with a golden future.

Figures of €14 million have been thrown around but is very unlikely that he will be sold for anything near that and reports in the German press are that a fee of less than €10 million is more realistic, though of course an auction could change things.

Arsenal will decide within a week if they are to bid depending on how other negotiations proceed, one thing is for sure is that Wenger will give serious consideration to a player he has previously admired.
This is exactly the kind of buy the Arsenal board are desperate to see!

Cheap and the revenue generated from having his name on the back of shirts will be another means of fleecing the fans!

Also expect David Goooolagooboobiedoo to sign from FC Lagos reserves!

Arsenal possible bidders for Lagos reserves player

Arsenal are weighing up whether to bid for Lagos reserves midfield star David Goooolagooboobiedoo and are prepared to bid against Burnley to secure the 15 year old midfielder's signature

David Goooolagooboobiedoo who has failed to hold down a place at Lagos reserves has just one year left on his contract and with no new contract offer forthcoming a move for the player who could be bought at a knocked down price is imminent from Burnley and this has alerted Arsenal who had been told earlier in the summer that the player would not leave Lagos reserves, that seems to have changed now.

David Goooolagooboobiedoo has consistently starred for his national under 16 team and was used regularly in the reserves campaign albeit more as a sub, he is an attacking midfielder and would be seen as an ideal replacement for Hleb who has left Arsenal for Barcelona.

The cost will not be substantial due to the fact the David Goooolagooboobiedoo contract is fast coming to an end and Lagos reserves do not want to see another one of their midfielder go to a club on a free as Fred Agoolaboolohoo did when he joined another team but neither will they let him go for next to nothing and Lagos reserves are happy to start an auction for a young player with a golden future.

Figures of €2 million have been thrown around but is very unlikely that he will be sold for anything near that and reports in the African press are that a fee of less than €1 million is more realistic, though of course an auction could change things.

We would do well to sign Shweinsteiger... he is a powerful runner from midfield and scores goals...I would use him on wings and get rid of Eboue.

From youngguns.wordpress.com

Arsenal are holding negotiations with Real Madrid for their 20 year old goal-keeper Felipe Ramos Sanchez, and remain confident of landing the Spain Under 19 International according to Spanish sports daily ‘AS’.

The paper - which focuses on the dealings of the La Liga Champions Madrid - claims the Gunners have been given permission to speak with the Castilla stopper, who featured on 23 occasions for Real’s Reserves & Youth sides last season.

It’s reported that Arsenal have had meetings with Ramos and his representatives on two occasions, with our Spanish scout Francis Cagigao helping over see the transfer. Last year it was revealed that Cagigao was searching for a young Spaniard to work with Manuel Almunia, and whilst several targets were mentioned, nothing solid ever came from the speculation.

Ramos is extremely highly rated and has represented his county at all youth levels, with the biggest moment of his international career coming as he appeared for the Under 19’s last year.

For Real he has been limited in his first team opportunity’s, but Bernd Schuster included him with the travelling party for the pre-season training camp in Austria, the same country which coincidentally Arsenal used for their preparations for the new campaign.

However, with Iker Casillas now back in training, Ramos has found himself frozen out once more and looks set to depart the Santiago Bernabéu before the close of the transfer window.

Player Information

Name: Felipe Ramos Sanchez Garcia
Age: 20
Position: Goalkeeper
Height: 187cm

How can any player consider going from being a back up to casillas(best keeper in the world imo) to being a back up to almunia and see it as a positive move ? :? :? Surely if madrid rated him they would keep his as back up to casillas or loan him out for a season as seems to be their norm but to sell him suggests that he aint good enough. I think this is a pile of shite myself and would be gutted if we spent money on any unproven keeper when shay given could be got for a song  :banghead:

By the way the j anderson source is jerome anderson the football agent is it ???

From sky.com

Arsenal and Manchester United have joined the battle, and now head the chase, to sign Ghana midfield sensation Anthony Annan, skysports.com understands.

The 22-year-old international spent last week training with Blackburn but that has seemingly alerted a host of other clubs to his availability.

Rovers were in pole position to strike a deal with his Norwegian club Start, but now they look to have lost their advantage.

Arsenal and United have now both made firm enquiries and they will be in attendance when Annan features in the Uefa Cup in Norway on Thursday evening.

Annan is playing for Stabaek - the club he is currently on loan at from Start - against Rennes and over a dozen clubs are ready to check on him.

AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Racing Santander are also keen to land the Ghana star, but he has his heart set on a move to England and it appears as if he will have a number of options.

Arsenal wanted to take the player on trial, but because of his commitments with Stabaek he could not spend more time in England after being with Blackburn.

Arsenal are reported to be lining up a bid for Ipswich youngster DANNY HAYNES after Steve Rowley personally made a check of the 20 year-old during last night’s Carling Cup clash against Leyton Orient.

Haynes bagged two goals in a 4-1 romp for The Tractor Boys and has attracted growing interest from the Premiership over the past two seasons. Danny is an electric striker who can also play wide on the right or left, and has been capped by England at Under 19 level.

After coming through the famed Ipswich Academy, the fleet-footed forward spent time on loan at Millwall in 2006, and impressed with two goals in five appearances. He picked up an award for the most improved player at the end of the campaign and instantly became a fans favourite.

Former Gunner Kanu selected Haynes in his team for a charity match against Portsmouth during the summer, and following another goal he was linked with a permanent move to Fratton Park.

He has also had his fair share of controversy after picking up a £1500 speeding fine, but admitted he couldn’t afford to pay the amount because he gives all his money to his mother. Danny has since had his licence revoked.

But on the field he remains one of the most exciting prospects in the Championship, mixing a cocktail of pace, power, energy and intelligent finishing, which is believed to be worth up to £3million for any potential new employers.

I have decided to link us with Ghana midfielder STEPHEN APPIAH.

We were linked with him last season, and now that he is reportedly out of his contract with Fenerbahce, he is a candidate for a hard working midfielder who can pass and tackle to reasonable ability.

With a Barry deal looking unlikely, and no concrete news on Alonso, and doubts now cast over a move for Inler by Steve Stammers on Arsenal TV....this could be the signing we have been waiting for.

Anyone seen him play, as I have only seen bits for Ghana?
