This guy doesnt get it.
With regards to the post...what if fate threw a black Arsenal supporter and white BNP / National Front member who was an Arsenal supporter together at the Champions League final together.
How can you embrace someone who wants to promote your oppression????

Er doh!.....i think you did....here we go again another round of the samezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The contributor of this Article needs to know that if your trying to diffuse a volatile debate it would be wise NOT to add the words 'just to add a bit of spice to the whole flag debate', then bang on about the whole creator of this flag. I have no allegiance to either argument so i'm completely impartial, all i know is that if your intention in any article is to try and draw a line underneath it, then DON'T refer to ANOTHER topic of debate, add fuel to the fire and then expect it to die down.
lol Nice slice common sense there by Gooner MC. I could talk about the Turkish Cypriot designer of the RoC flag and his supposed 'case' - but i'll leave that to a relevant website lol.
Something tells me that this Andreas Kokkinos guy is not being honest about his name or ethnicity buti'll leave it at that.

Andreas Kokkinos
Andreas has been a long term contributor to the Gooner (print version) for a long time, so if he's acting under an alias he certainly didn't create it for this particular saga.
I haven't had the opportunity to meet him, but if I were to put money on it, I'd believe he is who he says he is. Whether or not his views on the situation are representative of the Greek community is an entirely different matter, but I am not sure he's ever claimed his views are anything but personal ones.
I get the feeling he probably realises the Cyprus situation is not going to be resolved in a hurry and has chosen not to react to what many other Greek Arsenal fans doubtless regard as provocation. Whether anyone is right or wrong in all of this is something which you can all continue debating here. I'm making no judgments.

Cyprus meeting on Christianity and Islam cancelled due to politics
dpa German Press Agency
Published: Monday January 8, 2007
Athens- A meeting on the divided island of Cyprus intended
to promote dialogue between Christianity and Islam was cancelled on
Monday over fears that politics rather than religion would dominate
the talks, the Athens News Agency (ANA) said.
The meeting between Orthodox Christian Archbishop Chrysostomos and
Muslim cleric Ahmet Yonluer in southern Cyprus was supposed to have
been the first to take place on the island for decades.
The meeting would have been reciprocated in late January with a
visit by the archbishop to the Turkish-Cypriot north.
Reports said the Muslim cleric, who represents the majority of
Sunni Muslims on the island, cancelled the meeting because he feared
the Greek Orthodox Church would want to discuss political issues
following a political statement by the archbishop a day earlier.
The Greek Orthodox archbishop was quoted as saying that he wanted
to address the issue of the destruction of Christian shrines in
northern Cyprus.
Cyprus has been split into a Greek-Cypriot south and Turkish-
Cypriot north since Turkish troops invaded in 1974 after a brief
Greek-Cypriot coup backed by Greece.
Turkey has since stationed more than 30,000 troops in the northern
third of the island and is the only country to recognize the Turkish
breakaway state.
A UN sponsored reunification of Cyprus broke down in 2004 after
Greek Cypriots rejected the reunification plan which was
overwhelmingly accepted by Turkish Cypriots.
