New Nasri, Vela and Fabregas Songs for the weekend!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's the very problem.

It becomes "normal" to sing a song that is offensive because of an anti Jewish feeling, as much as an anti Spurs one.

Two of the songs I and many others sing at games, are "Bejesus said Paddy" and "The wanky Tottenham Hotspur went to Rome to see the Pope".

As far as I am aware, they are not offensive to Irish people or Catholics.

But if either told me that they wre offended by the songs for that very reason, I would stop singing them, and ask others not to sing them too.

he's really not.

I agree 100% with Quartz and the only reason I haven't got involved is that he's more than capable of dealing with it himself.
ditto

just because people do something - doesn't make it right!!!

it's racist & offensive, you've already been told that on here - but you chose to disagree.

i am offended by it.
Other people, jewish & non-jewish are offended by it - so therefore it is offensive.

you may think it is funny - but if people are offended - then it is offensive!

FACT!!!!

How can it be a fact? Matter of opinion. Never said it wasn't offensive.

I read this comment and shook my head. What is the world coming to?, I asked myself.

I put a pot of coffee on, reached for my reading glasses and my Jason Donavon LP..and settled down to write the most inspiring post a forum has ever read.

I planned to quote Martin Luthar King and his "I have a dream" speech..I would then write a passionate piece on his work to end racial discrimination through civil disobedience, and throw in a nod to Rosa Parks for standing up for what she believed in by refusing to give up her seat to a white man, in Alabama, 1955.

I would then move on to talk about football's "kick it Out" campaign and their fight against racial discrimination and anti-semitism. I would then throw in an Mohammed Ali-esque 1-2-3 with a burst of short punches, in the voice of a preacher man...will you stand out from the croooowwwwd? will you stand up for what you belieeeve in? will you defy the devil???

It would be brilliant. It would be inspirational.

But just as by digits reached for the keyboard, I had a stirring in my pants, forgot all about my grand plan, and clicked on RedTube

If someone said that to me, I would listen to their reasons, but NOT stop singing. I do not feel those songs are anti-Catholic or anti-Irish, and anyone who is complaining is either ridiculously PC, taking the piss or incredibly thin-skinned. As a Jewish Arsenal fan, you do have a point about offensive songs (I wouldn't sing the Nasri song BECAUSE Nasri is a Muslim), but there must be a line drawn.

THere is an altervative ending "sticking your cock in some little kid" that is only related to ?and would wind thme up enough, surely?  :barscarf: :barscarf:

Nothing to be ashamed of G88ner. Let's be honest, given those two options, who wouldn't have made the same choice as you? 8)

Anyway, back to the original topic of the thread.........A few weeks ago someone suggested a song for Nasri which for all you 40 somethings (or Mods!!) was to the tune of Poison Ivy by The Lambrettas from 1980. I suppose if you don't know the tune it won't make much sense but unfortunately I didn't have enough beers last Saturday to pluck up the courage to start it! Maybe you could try it tomorrow. It's a great tune. no fancy verses just his name plus a bit extra....

Sami Nasri eh eh eh eh
Sami Nasri eh eh eh eh
etc etc

I think it't got as much potential as Flamini to the Sweeney theme tune

Anyone agree?!?!
