Depends what you mean by good

I think we will finish 3rd or 4th in the league but not above Manure or Chelski their squads are just too strong
But we must finish in the top 4 anything else is a disaster

I think we can do well in the CL.

In the domestic cups the carling will be for the youngsters and who honestly cares about the FA cup the later rounds clash with the later rounds of the CL and i know which one i want to win

For me The Fa Cup is my favorite i just love the games and our history in it. when we lost out to blackburn last year and bolton the year befor i was in bits, even more then champions league or carling cup.

Realistically I would take a top 3 finish in the league table and either the FA cup or the Carling cup with the current squad and the team is good enough to achieve that in my opinion. But anything can happen in a league, all you need in some momentum. The club is in a desperate need of any kind of silverware this season.

You guys must know something I dont

So we have the squad to tackle ManUre, Liverpool and Chelsea over the course of a season :!: We could not do it last term and who have we bought that fills you all with such optimism :?

From 20 odd points behind to league champs with a young inexperienced side  I hope you are all dead right but for now I think we need to strengthen our side before I see us making up the points differance not taking into account the spending the others have done  :(

Reallistically, I don't think we've got a hope in hell of winning the Premiership but if we can actually manage to convert a higher proportion of the chances we create then maybe it can be better than last season.

last season a table based on top half only - we win the league.
basically the question is can we improve v teams like Citeh, Fulham, Sheff U and WestHam? I believe we can. Last season we created chance after chance against teams like them, but fluffed them. This year will hopefully be diff.

That sounds all right in theory, but is much too simplistic in reality.

If we do improve our results againt the bottom-half teams, there is no guarantee that we will repeat the good results we achieved against the top-half sides, is there?

I'm not being negative HighburyJD, just pointing out that sport in general, and football in particular, very rarely works like that. It's partly what makes sport so exciting - the not knowing for sure!! 8)

That's right ECD, lets just wait (support) and see the results.

But i have a felling that we will be better without old pals. 8)

i'm firmly in the optimistic camp regarding arsenal every season. whilst i have been let down for the last two seasons with the league and last season in particular was pretty poor in terms of highlights i still believe that this team has what it takes.

reading the latest issue of the gooner i agree with David Oudots "Target:Premiership" in that we have quality players throughout the side (apart from maybe some width) and in reserve. I wouldn't choose to add another central midfielder, we have 4 of the best at our disposal, i firmly rate all 4 central defenders on their day, they just need a little more consistency (and possible confidence boost for swiss phil please)

with a squad like this i feel we have enough to compete for all 4 trophies if we get lucky with injuries and can find the net a bit more often.

Interesting to note some fans would be happy with a domestic cup win.Well i sorry to disappoint you.Arsene has said the season is all about doing well in the Premiership and the CL,And he said the Carling cup is not even a major trophy(take that Chelski).
You dont see the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan trying to win domestic trophies they want the big ones.
