Greatest Form of Protest

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

As the club have already got the money in from the season ticket sales, I don't think it will make a jot of difference to them at all if people don't turn up. :(

As i said earlier in this thread, it would involve losing the mney for a game, seeing as its already paid for.

The point is that there would be a significant loss of atmosphere in the club not only noticable to the board and those inside but also to the television audiences.

And Calo, do you want Wenger to fail, i don't. He's a good manager. But then whats the point in having one when the board clearly aren't doing their job behind the scenes.

I turned on my PC at midday, and expected Wenger to have put a message on Arsenal.com.... something like, "I did try to sign a player, but I'm afraid it didn't work out" - now that, although frustrating, would have been something.

But what did I see on Arsenal.com??????

'Eboue is Becoming a Pass Master" :banghead: :banghead:

Our club are rubbing it in.... not only did they fail to buy players we were desperate for, but insult our intelligence with an article entitled "Eboue is becoming a pass master"... I'm sickened with the spin coming out of our club. It's insane.

I won't protest, as only time will tell if Wenger's experiment- and that's what it now seems to be - is a success or not... but at this moment in time, I really want to give Wenger a piece of my mind.

Why not some article of clothing or something?

Like a black armband but not necessarily a black armband...maybe something more appropriate. EVRYONE wears one, so they are handed out before the game, during the game etc. and posters, signs are everywhere so everyone knows what they are for. and then tell the media, let them get some snaps of it, circulate some stories.

any good? i feel like I'm clutching at straws.

Thanks for all your comments guys.

I dont think the wearing of items of clothing, of sorts, or posters/banners would be as effective as just no being there.

My proposal is that if things do not change and the mistakes from last season are not learnt from, then the first home game after the january transfer window those of us with tickets, season tickets remain outside the stadium until well into the first half, to let our point be known that it is us that make the club not the money that is invested as a result of our support.

id love it if we could just clear an entire tier at the sound of the refs whistle ala lazio

never happen though, same reason that our atmosphere is shocking. could such a stunt be achieved at an away game?

Just don't get any shite beer and those chiken balti pies once you're inside ground...40 000 season ticket holders x £10 over course of season is well over £7 million. Now that would hurt them.

The thing is augie, that already sounds like a typical home game. How are they going to seperate the protesters from the lazy day-tripper fans queuing for their hotdogs at 3.10 on a saturday?

I think a few huge, or numerous small banners which could be displayed on matchdays( ie without any national flags on them) saying on them all types of slogans about how we are not accepting et etc. should bring attention to it

I like the idea of not arriving til the game is 15 minutes in. I would say lets all go into the concourse and watch the first 15 minutes but the board would probably support that as people would buy from the kiosks.

Definately feel that enough is enough and its about time we let the board and wenger know that us fans are disgruntled.

On another note is there some sort of chant that block 5 could get going that might work its way along to the bench and directors box. Keep it going for a whole half if possible - or why not stay behind for 15mins at the end singing this said chant?
