Can't agree with everyone saying Lucas Neil should have been sent for his challenge on RVP. There were 2 covering defenders, and the keeper to beat plus it was about 40 yards from goal. However the ref got the gilberto situation all wrong.
If he blows up for the initial foul when savage went through the back of Gilberto then the whole situation could have been avoided. Secondly any punishment given to gilberto should have been equal to that given to savage. Gilberto only reacted to serious provocation. If you get kicked 3 times i think you have some right to lash out. Yes he should know better but the ref has to have some common sense and send both players off.
