TOUTS

Post by 2007_gooner »

Is it just me or is there more and more touts selling tickets between Arsenal station and the North Bridge. It turning into a joke.
Every week there seems to be more.
How are they managing this, when the Emirates was built AFC said the cards would stop this but some how i think its got worse. Maybe its because they are all in the same area now that it seems like more, when we was at highbury maybe they where more spread round the ground.

I noticed a group of touts on the corner inbetween Arsenal station and the bridge what made it funny(!!!!!) was that there were groups of police standing next to them as they sold tickets. I can not understand why it is so hard for Arsenal football club to stamp out touts, is it to much hassle or is it that once the have sold the tickets they dont care about what happens to it?

there are always ways of getting tickets and most of the touts have season tickets going back years
plus the club issue paper tickets which always seem to end up in touts hands for some reason

At highbury a lot of em were well know, and didnt do the whole "buy/sell tickets" shouting. With so many ways of getting to the stadium they have loads of places to sell without police presence (not that theyd do anything anyway). But your rite where are they getting all the tickets? You've gotta be a mug to buy off a tout tho especially for well over face value, have seen loads of people being refused entry because their cards were fake.

It seems as if it's almost accepted as a necessary evil.

I would be interested to know how many arrests and/or ticket seizures are made every game from touts.. but, to be honest, it's obviously not much of a deterrent, as they're very easy to find. Just a quick walk from the Arsenal tube to the Grove will have you propositioned at least 2 or 3 times... it's f*cking disgraceful really, considering the amount of police around

I hav enoticed this also, i usually onlly head that route on weekday matches now and there are always a few, have seen them being quite agressive to some people asking about prices.

The old bill generally don't care, as its crowd trouble that they are there for. you can complain to the police near by and they would have to deal with it, as its crime in progress within eyeshot.

You can also take a camera phone pic and report it to the club and the police.

Personally my favourite would be to just kock the mo fo's out and sell they're tickets at facevalue.

The sad truth is old 'supply and demand' its not hard to get hold of tickets. and there are mugs who will pay over the odds for them.

What i do find interesting is that if the club at the end of season state that no leage game went on general sale, or even CL game and most FA cups, how on earth are there so many paper tickets in circulation, when any pre-general sale ticket would have to have been purchased by a card carrying member.

i walked out of arsenal station on saturday at about 13.00pm and was shocked, there must of been easily 10 touts there, straight out the front of the station and lined up against the wall. when i saw them i was fuming looked around and there was 1 police officer in sight around the station. so i went to the armoury to get a scarf and then walked to the cafe across the road to get something to eat and decided to let the old bill know what i saw. all i got was yer we are aware of it there is police officers in that area, i said there obviously isnt mate otherwise i would of told them and not you by the armoury. whats even more annoying is they just stood there did nothing and there must of been 10 coppers outside the armoury doing nothing and none out the front where the touts were.
