This is the best thread with the best comments on it from all posters that has been on this site for a while.
I prefer things kept "in house".
That said, I think Gallas has been made a scapegoat for a lot of things, and he is clearly feeling the pressure.
It is clear there are cliques in the squad, as in all squads, but at our club things have got bitchy.
Did anyone else see Van Persie leap off the bench when Spurs equalised? I was sitting in the North West Corner and could see it clearly.
He jumped up and was distraught, his body language suggested an, "I told you so" feeling.
I am all for occasional player bust ups in the dressing room.
IT SHOWS THEY CARE.
Out of such tension victory can emerge.
In 1998 we all know the famous team meeting that happened after the hoem loss to Blackburn.
Adams and Bould criticised Petit and Vieira for not doing defensive midfield duties.
From that frank discussion, emerged the best midfield partnership this club has very had.
It is time for Wenger to get all the team together, to make everyone say exactly what they think, and address the grievances constructively.
If any player carries on subsequently bitching then the player they are bitching about, if not pulling his weight, should be sold.
If the bitching is unwarranted, the the bitching player should be sold.
At the risk of sounding like Peter Sellers in "Being There", We must be prepared to prune to stimulate regrowth.

"Currently there are four 25-year-olds in the squad: Robin Van Persie, Emmanuel Eboue, Eduardo and Bacary Sagna, although it is not clear who the offending player is"

Right. It can't be Eddie or Eboue, they weren't playing.
That narrows it down to RvP and Bac. Hmmm.... ...they both started. I doubt it'll be Sagna.
Well I don't think he should be saying that. SO I'm slightly more pissed off but he should say it to ARSENE and have him give the guy a bollocking in private. Not PUBLICLY!

on this forum i have always defended gallas as he is still a good defender but needs a better partner but today i feel he has gone too far and none of this needed to come out in an interview, we have been blessed with captains in the past but but does seem an Achilles heel for wenger as he doesn't seem to have a clue when it comes to appointing a captain for the team

this should all be dealt with behind closed doors - in my opinion.
i have always liked the way that historically Arsenal have conducted their affairs away from the press but regardess of what happened Gallas squealing to the press does not help matters, it sounds like something sp@rs would do - its embarassing really!

If Gallas is stripped of the captaincy then that's the end of him... I don't think he's mentally stable, and something tells me he won't take too kindly to the humiliation!Lethal wrote:http://www.fansonline.net/arsenal/article.php?id=336

He'll be a miserbale sod for the rest of the season, then leave in the summer.
To be honest though, what was he thinking????
- the sad thing is... he's making Wenger look a fool for choosing him in the first place!

Gooner Talk weblog claiming that Gallas was ordered to return from Paris to London by Wenger, and banned from all interviews in the French press.
