As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He has the ability and intelligence to sort out this mess BUT he needs to lose the stubborness and bitterness and be a bit more humble.
Every man should be given a chance to learn from his mistakes, especially one like AW. If he sorts the obvious issues in January, gets us into the top four, and after the season finishes admits to the mistakes we made in the first few months, I would be the first to say what a "big man" he was.
However, if he adopts this siege mentality and trips out more bullshit about "players not available at the right price", "we already have the quality here" and fails to swallow his pride, I fear that we might really be seeing the end of an era.
I don't necessarily fear the end of Arsene but I do fear who this inept board of directors might appoint.
Amongst all the criticism of AW and the players, these jokers are the most to blame. The departures of Dein and Edelman have weakened the club. The Emirates project was misplaced flattery and a PR machine that went out of control. Leadership starts in the board room.
It would be easy for them to make a panic appointment and my fear is that they might.
Kroenke and Usmanov have been painted as the root of all evil. I tell you now - I would take Kroenke as the private owner of the club any day you like. Get rid of Hill Wood and Fiszman now - their philosophies for running a football business are 20 years out of date

Myself a few others have being saying something along those lines for nearly a year now. Is it just a coincidence that this barren run has coincided with the departure of DD ? I am not saying that DD was the brains or the tactical genius behind our recent successes but he was a close ally of wenger's and I really believe that wenger has missed his presence alongside him. DD's knowledge and contacts in the game have also been badly missed by the club as well and all cos he sought to bring in a man (kroenke) to the club with additional finances and this is now the same man that the board have pulled close to their busom in a bid to repel usmanov
It has gone way beyond the point of embarrassing that 6 months after edelman has left we are still to appoint a new ceo How is a club supposed to be run successfully when the hub of such a business (note that I said business not club) is always the ceo ? Where was fitzsman when the shit was hitting the fan over the last couple of days ? In his tax exile in fcuking geneva and it is damn hard to control a wild file when you are a few thousand miles away from it
I asked the question before if the fans believe that the sacking of DD by the board was a move designed for the betterment of the club or done to protect themselves and I still believe it was the latter. Simply put we need DD's presence back at the club right now both to be the dynamic face of the club and to be that close confidant that wenger needs right now more than ever. Up until now I was willing to hold fire on judging the new ceo but after failing to secure anybody to do the job after 6 bloody months then I think that the board simply have to bury their feelings towards DD and re-hire the man cos we know that he is more than qualified to do the job, knows the club inside out and loves the club more than any other candidate possibly can
I am not a "wenger out" person although a major change of everything is required, but I found this quote (on arsenal.com) quite bizarre....
"I believe we must focus on the next game and not have set targets that don’t look immediately reachable. Lets try to win and see where we go from here. I have had worse weeks!"

Absolutely. This board have behaved disgracefully putting DD forward as some sort of evil influence. The man is years ahead of his time as he showed all the way through his tenure at Highbury. So what if he viewed Wembley as an option (like the Emirates has been just great) - he is a first class businessman who doesn't get shackled by sentiment.
Hill Wood made a complete tit of himself with his pathetic "we don't need his sort" comments about Kroenke. Honestly, Harry Enfield should hire him for his next Miles Chumley-Warner sketch. He lives in the age of the vinyl LP and feared the forward thinking brains of Dein....

You are basing that on what exactly ?? Firstly the vast vast majority of Gooners everywhere believes that cesc will be off next summer so it was pointless putting his name on that list Secondly my friend we would never be lucky enough for the greedy useless togolese *word censored* to fcuk off next summer and we ensured that by paying the judas bastard 80k per week and with his retirement to think about there is no way he will go anywhere else for less money You are talking about all this like the players all play for arsene fc They play for the club and not just wenger and in case you have missed it, lately they aint be doing fcuk all anyway which isnt the greatest show of loyalty or respect to a manager that I have ever seen Wenger hasnt been able to hold onto players like flamoney and hleb despite his great intentions so maybe his hold over the players is not what it once was

What a fucking loss that would be. The one footed wonder and the King of the Linesman's Flag.
not a RVP or Adebayor fan i see
Not really mate. Two that definitely believe in their own hype ahead of any sort of "die for the cause" attitude. Both capable of delivering brilliance, but too passive for me. If TA6 was captain and booting them up the arse they would have a chance. I remember reading TA6 saying what an arrogant shit Vieira was when he first joined and taking him to one side on more than one occasion..........we really need a leader to galvanise some of these young lads. Everyone would benefit
