My Dad Died, and Arsenal are suffering too.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Usual thread stater:

Condolences to Simon and his family on his recent loss.

Not sure it is appropriate to say anything more, but as the author himself has discussed;

What qualities does a captain need?

Who were your best captains from Arsenal's past, and from other clubs?

Who from the non-sporting world would make a good captain?

Very good article - very well written with passion. Your Dad would have been proud!

The captain's role is something that Fabrigas can mould into, some desire it and can develop into a good captain relishing that you are the spokesman for the team on the pitch and some feel the pressure perhaps like Gallas!
I cannot feel a little sorry for our former skipper - how many times do you think he has tried to talk to Wenger about the lack of respect/dressing room problems only to be lectured by the fanatical frenchman of spirit, togetherness, the grass was too green, the ball too round, the tackles too hard and fair and those nasty anglo saxons snarling and not giving us 5 yards space on every touch. ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
