Would You Want Owen?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Do not want Owen.

Gets injured too easily.

If we sign a new striker would want one over six foot tall as we need more aerial threat and marking ability at set pieces.

The more I see of Babel the more I think he could be the next Thierry! Big, quick and very good on the ball. Mind you if we weren't prepared to break the bank for Alonso then even if the fat waiter would sell, we would never get anywhere near their asking price.

Well mate, he expressed interest in coming to us but you know the score...it would have involved 5 years of negotiating and the writing and   signing of cheques    :banghead:

I know Galasso but I've had a word with Santa and he's promised to visit Wenger's house this year and leave some common sense and an ability to admit he may have got it wrong under his tree!!
The days of the 17yr olds from Nigeria are over, a new era of transfer dealing is on the horizon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 or 4 years ago owen would not have gotten within a mile of our 1st team who played with lightening fast counter attacking football but with outstanding link up play and owen is not a link up player. Now however we do not have the players to play that game and maybe he would suit our game more but I have to concur re the concerns expressed over his constant injuries.

I have to say that the mooting of going after beckham appealed to me - I would never have supporteed such a move before but when you see denilson and diaby's efforts on the wing and knowing that theo and rosicky are going to me out for another 3 months minimum it does seem appealing especially as it would allow us to use our transfer billions ( ) elsewhere  I'm sure though that this deal is a non runner if he has signed a deal already with ac milan
