As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It was easier to see that when it wasn't disguised by 35,000 people.
Ok they had obviously stopped spending on the place long ago but it had run it's course as our home.
As much as I miss it I am happy with the Grove. As new stadiums go it looks good and it ticks all the other boxes.
Remember though, it is not the new stadium that stops the atmosphere but rather the new supporters and the club with their Nazi stewards!
Highbury had charm, it had history, it represented Arsenal. That feeling started to go downhill when they knocked the North bank terracing down. Highbury had a magic about it & with the terracing, we were all together as one through thick & thin. The last 10 years at highbury don't apply. Library atmosphere, fake fans, impossible to get tickets etc..I disagree it was rundown though..what are you on about?
The atmosphere in Highbury was shit long before the NB terrace went... It had it's good days and it's bad...
As for the place being run down, Gus is right. It was starting to get that way, mostly because the club were moving and not spending on upkeep.
Our support was never 'great' but it was'nt 'shit' either. The bad days were still more fun than any days at the Emirates. At least those who turned up during the baron early 80's were proper supporters. Disagree it was getting run down so to speak but was it really that much of an inconvenience for you?
The views & comfort at the Emirates are 2nd to none but who really loves going? I've given it loads of chances & time as have many & even if our team were top of the league it would still be shit. I wish there was a way of revolutionising all these frustrations but apart from singing your heart out only to get told off by stewards what do you suggest? red action have done bugger all but I don't blame them (at least they're trying)..its the way football is now.
Who ever mentioned that it was an inconveinience Alex?
You trying to pick a row for no reason?
The simple facts are it did look tired and rundown due to the rightful lack of investment. You can't tell me what I saw with my own eyes isn't true and Sammy Nelson even commented during the tour on what a poor state the place was in.

mate, this is getting as boring as our 93' side. Medal for you. Enjoy the Emirates.
Because I said that Highbury was run down when I went on the last tour of the place?
Explain why I am boring and get yourself some credibility back!
This original post was a hypothetical question. Highbury's gone. I accept that.
You're happy at the Emirates as you quoted. I'm not, I don't accept it.
I wish there was a solution to making the atmosphere better at the Emirates. You & your boyfreinds are trying to pretend that things are somehow as good or almost as good as they were by making pointless arguments over how much paint was rotting off the East Stand. Carry on if that makes you feel all tingly.
No I am not you prick! You find me a comment written by me where I say that our new stadium is as good as the old. I will save you the bother because you won't!
I have said that as far as new stadiums goes The Grove looks ok and ticks many boxes.
I also said the problems about the atmosphere stem from the clubs attitude and the type of "supporters" they encourage to come to the place.
I stood on the North Bank for years and that will never ever be replaced.
Not quite sure what you have got a bee in your bonnet about but you are acting a tit.
Considering we agree on 90% of the subject I have no idea why you needed to start calloing me a *word censored* and boring.
