Metal Anyone???

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Who? :?

I used to listen to a bit of Nu-metal in the late 90s but i'm a bit sick of it to be honest.

InFlames are the only band I've heard of from those :?

I can forgive you not knowing Unearth digger, because I've barely listened to them myself, but Lamb of God...you need to hear this song at least once:

Glad you know In Flames though. :D They're my favourite of the three.

And didn't Nu-metal die?? I know that there's some bands who hate the label Nu-metal, like its some sort of insult.

Went to see Diablo, Cannibal Corpse and Children Of Bodom last Thursday at Kentish Town. Diablo were good & COB were excellent but I was there for the Corpse and they totally owned the place.

Will return there in 2 weeks to see Obituary and Amon Amarth.

In Flames were great last night, and Lamb of God were every bit as intense as I expected them to be.

Plus I managed to get my hands on a couple of In Flames picks that were thrown into the crowd. :D

My eldest promotes up and coming metal bands. His next gig is March 7th at The Flag in Watford £3 on the door. Three or four bands.

What he doesn't know about metal ain't worth knowing. He's a legend. Don't the myspace/facebook address but do a search for Twistedattheflag. That might work.

Pretty much, it went a bit shit. Used to listen to stuff like Machine Head, Korn, RATM (they were quality, until the battle of LA), SOAD, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit (they turned realllly shite!), Pitchshifter etc

Was supposed to be boycotting the basement but this is an exemption.

i was into my metal music during the "nu-metal" period.

But to us it wasnt NU it was NEW.

"NU" is a media term.

New Metal was.....

Sepultura

Korn (first two albums only)

Pantera

Fear Factory

Machine Head

IT WAS THESE BAND WHERE THE TERM COMES FROM.

Road Runner Records had a big part to play in New Metal too. All the rap-metal stuff was called nu-metal and was, rap rock (korn went that way sadly, but some of it was good, but not metal)

Have lost touch now but got new metallica album(legends!!!!), waiting for a new slayer album too.

Anyway most of what i hear is shite these days,

RAM, not a bit fan of lamb of god,

but, know and have heard a lot pf IN FLAMES and they're a good fukin band!!!!

THIS IS MY LAST POST EVER IN THE BASEMENT

POST THIS STUFF UPSTAIRS GUYS.

Didn't think a lot of Life is Peachey, but Follow the leader was brilliant. Everything after that was shite.

i went to woodstock '99 :)

it was fucking sick, got stoned all 3 days and listened to some great bands. Saturday night was Rage Against the Machine until like midnight followed by Metallica until 3am with 250,000 people.

Then sunday came... and shit hit the fan. people tore the place up, set fires to everything it was fucking chaos but it was actually pretty cool to be there when it happened.
