Injury prone.
If he is looking for a club surely we could put him on a tiny wage with massive appearance bonuses therefore if he is injured or does not play we have not lost a great deal!

This rumour was around earlier in the season, seems it keeps coming back.
25.02.09 | tribalfootball.com

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced about moving for Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo.

The former Almeria wing-back has been tracked by Wenger since the start of the season and his performance for Brazil against Italy at Emirates stadium has convinced the Frenchman, says Mediaset.

Fiorentina are reluctant to sell, but will struggle to resist an offer of around £16 million for Melo, who could offer the Gunners the steel in midfield they've missed since the departures of Gilberto Silva and Mathieu Flamini.

Highly-rated Spanish youngster Koke has claimed Arsenal are monitoring his progress.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for 17-year-old, who currently plies his trade for Atletico Madrid B, although the North London club have yet to comment on the speculation.

Defensive midfielder Koke is considered to be one of Spain's brightest prospects and is the captain of the Under 17 side.

He said: "I am calm. My sole focus is to improve as a player each day.

"Arsenal have watched some of my matches, but I have not spoken with anybody."

Koke is tied to a youth contract at Atletico and will be able to sign senior terms in the summer
If he does sign, finding a song for him shouldn't prove much problem:

'Oh, hokey, koke, koke,
Oh, we've got koke, koke
Oh, hokey, koke, koke
ko-ke plays for Ars-en-al!!'

I WANT TO GET HIM JUST TO SING THAT SONG

Fansfc.com try to keep this old chestnut alive:

Niko Kranjcar
has again been linked with Arsenal Football Club.

The Gunners are believed to be lining up a £14million summer bid for the Portsmouth midfielder, who admits he would love to join a bigger club.

"I've got my contract for another year-and-a-half and I'm happy to see it out," Kranjcar is quoted as saying in The Daily Mail.

"But at the end of the day if I don't sign a new one the club will probably try to sell me in the summer.

“If a bigger club, or big clubs from Europe come in and if the price is right of course I would like to go and play in the UEFA Champions League.

Would be nice but i doubt it would happen - we only got Gallas off the because he was causing trouble and they wanted Cashley more than they didn't want us to have Gallas.

Arsene Wenger is trailing Valencia defender Raul Albiol, 23, as he looks to launch a major shake-up of his defence this summer.

Arsenal also enquired Albiol's teammate Carlos Marchena in January.

Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel looks set to leave German club Bayern Munich in the summer with his contract coming to an end. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has previously been linked with the midfielder but given the player’s veteran status he appears to have stepped aside.

Iain Collin in The Scotsman:

HIBS midfielder [and central defender] Sol Bamba has been showered with praise and tipped for a bright future in the game by one of the English Premier League's biggest stars.
The 24-year-old may have only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes as he earned his second cap for the Ivory Coast last week, but he made a big impression in that time on Arsenal skipper Kolo Toure.

Is there any point keeping this as a sticky? The Board have more or less said that we won't be spending any decent money on players this summer. :banghead:

There's no point. Perhaps the date in the title could be changed from 2009 to 2019!
