Carling Cup Final -Which Arsenal team would you like to see?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Carling Cup Final -Which Arsenal team would you like to see?

Post by Chunky The Gooner »

Well this time next sunday hopefully we're gonna be happy but which team would you like to see Arsene play? I was having a chat with a Spurs work mate (well we have to work together so I try to make an effort !) and he said "its only a shit cup anyway ! To which I replied it was the last major trophy (some of them count the 5 a side London masters from the other year too!) you won and wasn't your manager then an ex Arsenal one?!! and was it a shit cup when you were 2-0 up in the first leg with your first team? If Le Boss puts out a team like Almunia. Hoyte, Clichy, Djorou, Senderos, Flamini, Diably, Walcott, Denilson. Alidiere and Baptista with say Cesc, Adebayor and a few others on the bench are we lose are we gonna be like " oh well the boys did well to get that far and they are gonna be some team when they are older" or would you prefer Arsene to put out his best team and go for it? I know its not gonna happen but to me a cup is a cup . Another thread starter for the ed to do could be what do you now think is his best team?!

Lehman

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy

Rosicky Gilberto Fabrigas Denilson Hleb

Adebayor 4-5-1 if Chelsea go 4-5-1

or Aliadiere instead of Hleb if we go 4-4-2 if Cjelsea go 4-4-2

Must pick the strongest squad available, no question about it.

Its a cup final and its against Chavski, we have to win. We've got to humble Moaniniho before he leaves the premiership.

As I've pointed out on another thread this isn't purely a second string achievement as many 1st teamers, Eboue, Hleb, Fabregas, Toure, Clichy, Rosicky have been involved at crucial times in this run

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO LOOK AT IT. DO WE ENJOY THE DAY OUT IN CARDIFF WHAT EVER THE RESULT OR IF WE LOSE WILL WE BE WE REALLY DISAPPOINTED. YOU CAN BET YOUR LIFE CHELSKI WILL PUT OUT THERE STRONGEST TEAM. THIS IS THE FIRST FINAL I WILL HAVE GONE TO BEING TOTALLY RELAXED.I BELIEVE IT IS A WIN-WIN FOR US.CHELSKI ARE RED HOT FAVOURITES THEY HAVE MORE TO LOSE THAN US. I WOULD MAKE SURE THE SPINE OF THE TEAM IS STRONG. I WOULD PLAY TOURE AND GALLAS AT THE BACK(SENDEROS HATES PLAYING AGAINST DROGBA) GILBERTO AND CESC IN MIDFIELD, ADEBAYOR AND BATISTA UP FRONT.

Like the team DTJENKINS ! Although I think the introduction of Gallas is too soon. As we saw on Saturday he just needed an hour under his belt to get a run out but he was nowhere near as effective as he can be. Maybe if he had a couple more matches under his belt then yes. I do like Hleb , Ok he cant shoot for toffee but the way he twists and turns players and his balance is unreal .

GALLAS WAS TAKEN OFF AS A PRECAUTION ON SATURDAY SO HE COULD BE READY FOR PSV. EVEN IF GALLAS CAN ONLY PLAY 70 MINS v CHELSKI I WOULD PLAY HIM. I FEAR SENDEROS AGAINST DRODBA

I make you right there Donaldo. Senderos hasn't got a good record against Drogba. If its to be Senderos or Djorou to partner Toure in Cardiff then Id take Djorou. However if Phillipe does play on Sunday and has a blinder . Ill be on here after the game to hold my hands up !

Big Phil played great against Chelski at the bridge last December, Drogba caused us no problems that day, so Big Phil is capable. I think people should give him a chance, calling him the swiss cygan is totally unfair on the guy.

I trust him to put in another solid display against Chelski on sunday like he did in the league game.

Judging by the main concept of this post every one has their worries over swiss cygan, personally i thought he had a stinker at stamford bridge and he never plays well when up against drogba, i think toure and johan should start with swiss on the bench but to be brutally honest i dont care who he plays as long as we beat those chelski scabs and shut them up so im just gonna go to cardiff have a lot of carling and enjoy our kids whooping their first team !!!

Haha very good! I'd have Brady instead of Davis though!

What a team though. Lots of goals scored and very few conceded!!!!
