away games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Had a quality day on saturday, got the arsenal coach to wigan, arrived about 1.30pm, beautiful weather, went to the red robin for a few beers, was a little dissapointed tho, as i thought with the lovely weather would of been a lot more lively.

I stood all game at wigan, i was in row v, everyone in the rows in front of me was standing but everyone in the rows behind me sitting, so i stood standing and had no problem all game. there were some boys in the row behind me in fancy dress wearing batman and robin outfits, who you would thought after putting in all that effort, would want to stand and make some noise, but they stayed sitting and although you feel a bit guilty i cannot stand sitting down for the game after i have sat down on a coach for 4 hours :banghead: :banghead:

what annoys me aswell is being on the away scheme, i always get allocated uppier tier tickets (if it is not 1 stand like wigan), which is s**t, yesterday my tickets were next to 2 of the coach drivers!!! and most in the upper tier sit down, unlike in the lower tier where everyone stands. I managed to swap upper tier tickets for the chelsea away game with lincs123 for lower tier row 2 and was the best game i have been at :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

To be honest its s**t, i always get the coach, but for me it is convenient and cheap. It takes me 45 mins to drive to london gateway. then get on the coach. After liverpool game tho im going to get myself a railcard and start getting the train, as it saves a lot of money on tickets and is quicker. Man usa away in the league is £32.70 return taking me onl 3h 41 min instead on 4-5 hours on a coach. Liverpool being a 7.45pm game there is no train back. what really annoyed me on saturday was why we needed to stop for an hour? :banghead: :banghead: although we got there at 1.30pm i would of preffered only stopping for half hour and getting more drinking time.

I was stood in the bottom left. on the end of my row right at the front. That woman was a right mouthy idiot. Every goona just goading her... i wasnt up for meeting her outside the ground though. Judging by the build of her she probably leads the Wigan mob!
