Another euro away question

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Another euro away question

Post by Rilo II »

I've been told that when you buy tickets to away games in europe your name is printed on the ticket and you have to show your passport to get into the stadium to stop hooligans etc getting tickets. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I didn't think this was true, but thinking about it I'm pretty sure I heard something like that before.

Anyone shed some light on this?

No that is usually not the case, but Arsenal ask for passport numbers when ordering, I`m not sure they use them unless there`s trouble in the stadium. I`ve been to 10-15 european away games in recent years withouth my name being printed on the tickets.

Rilo - If you're worried about Slavia Prague then don't worry - it won't happen.

On any euro trip whether i have travelled with the club or independantly toy will always have to register with the travel club but that seems to be it. The Arsenal always travel abroad with little or no bother at all. Get booked and enjoy old son!!!!

Prague will be fine. In fact all the group stages will be fine. Even in Italy it is usually okay, normally Italian clubs request the club to submit a list of name and passport numbers so that's when the names are put on tickets.

In the case of Juve away last time, it was pen written by the box office as you picked up your ticket.
