Is it me or isn't a little weird that anyone would expect to find 'cheap' beer prices anywhere in the vicinity of Wembley?

I suppose the 'easy' alternative is for them moaners to take over the organisation of events in the future. Of course that would never work because the moaners are too busy doing exactly that moaning.

Well done to Spanner and Reg and all the others who worked so hard to get the event off the ground in a very short period of time.

i had an awesome time at the silver spoon
great tunes, arsenal songs, great atmosphere, sunshine, great people!!!
How can any one moan about paying £4 a pint in a club??
Don't think anywhere else would have been better pre-match
Didn't have to worry about catching trains to get to the game on time or having to deal with any chav fans
Bad manners, the Jam, Specials with some away boyz & classic arsenal songs
One of the best pre-match times ive had

BIG BIG BIG cheers to all the guys who organised it - & big thanx to the DJs - congrats to all!!! :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Was really looking forward to going there again before the final..... oh well, next year, eh?

Exactly mate, was anyone here seriously expecting a cheap day out?? The only way to have done that is to take leesons from John Terry's mother and learn how to bung some Tescos own brand lager down yer coat and drink it in a branch of Curry's while watching for free on their extensive range of tvs  Yesterday we bought a round of 6 Stellas (bottles), 4 large bottles of Bulmners and 2 JD and cokes, it came to £43, I make that about £3.60 a drink, not cheap but not excessively dear either. On top of that I got a fucking good afternoon with good company, surely worth paying a few extra quid for? I did'nt notice any bars on the windows and doors, it was'nt a prison and there was an exit so anyone who was peeved at having to pay the prices was free to leave and find somewhere cheaper at any time. Well done Spanner and the others for getting this on.

Sorry you got hassled Spanner because of my thread but as you can see I said I was appreciative of the effort.

However, being called a no mark mug and someone who knows fuck all is a bit daft. All I asked was why the beer was so dear. Is that not a valid comment? How many of you pay 4 quid a pint normally?

Reg, if you was so informed as you made out you could have told me about the costs etc instead of accusing me of knowing fuck all. You didn't really say anything that justified £4 a pint, just went on the attack.

NBN, no mark mug? Righ oh! Been watching Danny Dyer films a lot lately?

Spanner thanks for the info. It was never a pop at the organisers as I tried to explain, more being pissed off at the price of a pint.

If that is genuinely what the venue charges then fair enough as there is nothing you can do about that. Still the fact stands £4 for a Carling is a bit steep. So again. this is in no way disrespectful to you, the venue management are robbing c**ts as they have a captive audience due to Wembley being a hole on an industrail estate.

Nice try though fellas with the effort to make me look like an uncharitable bastard who begrudges an ill kid a few quid to make their short lives better.

If you wanna know why you fall so flat on your face with that then PM me and I will gladly tell tou.
You chose to ignore my comment about the organisers NOT being responsible for the price of beer.

I took exception and still do to your comment it 'was a fucking con'. This gave the impression to me and other posters that you think the organisers were 'on the make' (my words).

And you also state 'if that's what the venue GENUINELY charges then so be it' Do you still not believe?

No one has tried to make you look uncharitable and personally i would not accuse anyone of that. The idea to raise money was a late addition, though members of another site have been doing this for a short while.

And as for your comment about not being in the know, how wrong you are but I'm not gonna explain myself.
