personally i dont think he fits into wengers 5 man midfield system and can be anonymous in too many games , he doesnt work in a partnership with adebarndoor and doesnt score enough to be the main striker at the club but if it was up to me i would buy an another striker to compliment him and get rid of the deadwood like ade and nic first who bring even less to the team.

So what type of striker do you think would suit RVP as a partner?

Does he need an Eduardo type partner , Drogba type or an Henry type partner.

or does he need to be in the hole behind two strikers. So a more 433 formation

I don't rate rvp as highly as many on here seem to, so I would take good money were it to be offered, as for bendtner I don't rate him either, but he is a better player coming off the bench than rvp.

Quartz may be gone but his spirit lives on.

What a legacy that man left.

I'd rather keep RVP instead of Adebayor or Bentdner any day the bloke has a magical left foot and always scores a few decent free kicks from outside the box

I think he has had his best season since he joined us this year and until recently wasn't injured and was playing well

Do you think there is some sort of friction between Cesc and RVP is a battle of the Ego's Cesc gets injured for a long period - RVP stays injury free and plays virtually every game - now Cesc is back, RVP is injured again

I like RVP but I'd take the money and run if we were offered something decent for him. He's just missing that X Factor for me. Scores quality goals, but in quite a few games flatters to deceive and despite a decent run this season, serious questions have to be asked about his injury proneness. If we were offered 20-25 million I'd take it and get Cesc to have a sneaky word to David Villa about how great life at The Arse could be for him.

He is one of the few players I would be genuinely disappointed to see leave along with Cesc, Arshavin, Eduardo and perhaps Walcott.

That said, I can see an argument for getting rid of him, he is incredibly injury prone is also very much a form player who doesn’t contribute a great deal when off form (but you could say that about pretty much every single attacking player we have). I think he can fit into a 4-2-3-1 formation but as with most attacking players needs to be given freedom to move around the pitch. He is an intelligent footballer and one I think can work well with the likes of Cesc and Arshavin, unlike Adebayor who doesn’t have the skill or awareness.

What I am sure of is we need to address the injury problems, there have been too many for it to be purely down to luck. So we either ship some of the worst offenders out or look at things like our training methods to see if they are partly to blame.

I have long been an admirer of Van Persie but I am slowly coming round to the idea of taking the money for him.

I think right now we would all like to see Arshavin play behind a main striker more than we would RvP.

We seem to have a whole host of players who can play that role and maybe we have too many? Cesc, RvP, AA and Nasri.

Personally, if the sale of RvP and Ade got us a true world class striker with Andrei behind him I wouldn't be over upset. Yes, Robin is a great talent and a great player but where his position is remains unclear which is why I find it strange that a new five year deal is on the table.

Sell him and play Arshavin(the real successor to Bergkamp) as the second striker next season.Get rid of Greedy and Bendtner and break the bank and sign David Villa

Agreed! except we would still need cover on the bench, and bendtner would be the only one of the three that might be willing to play that role.

Vela and Eduardo would be the cover on the bench

We would still be a bit short and neither ed nor vela wouldn't provide the physical option that bendtner would ( though don't get me wrong I'm no fan of the dane)

I really cannot see why people are pinning so much hope on Vela.

A couple of good Carling Cup goals and all of a sudden he is the great white hope of Arsenal.

From what I have seen in Prem and CL games he hass looked like a little boy lost.
