Barca v Chavs

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So what you're saying is that we're definitely going to win the Champions League? Nice. Good enough for me! :barscarf:

Was hoping that the 1st leg was at home for chavs cos I was looking forward to messit destroying the judas *word censored* in front of a full house in the camp nou 8)

Whats the betting the chavs take it in turns to try and kick messi out of the game ? I really hope that they focus on messi cos imo they will be then destroyed by the striker that I advocated that we should have bought last summer (when some fools on here said that he was a spent force  ).....Samuel Eto

The Chavs will grind a result out over the 2 legs. It wont be pretty but if one team can beat Barca it will be those fuckers :banghead:

That has been done in the European cup though, essentially the same competition:

1990 AC Milan 1-0 Benfica
1989 AC Milan 4-0 Steaua Bucharest

1982 Aston Villa 1-0 Bayern Munich
1981 Liverpool 1-0 Real Madrid
1980 Nottingham Forest 1-0 Hamburg
1979 Nottingham Forest 1-0 Malmö
1978 Liverpool 1-0 Club Brugge
1977 Liverpool 3-1 Borussia Mönchengladbach

1976 Bayern Munich 1-0 Saint-Etienne
1975 Bayern Munich 2-0 Leeds United
1974 Bayern Munich 4-0 replay
1-1 after extra time Atlético de Madrid

1973 Ajax 1-0 Juventus
1972 Ajax 2-0 Inter Milan
1971 Ajax 2-0 Panathinaikos
1970 Feyenoord 2-1
after extra time Celtic

Beating the Chavs in the final would be one of the greatest feelings ever but I could'nt face losing to them..

Barca play proper football & have a history, I hope they stuff them tonight

I will eternally hate the Chavs & those up the road even if they ended up playing in the GM Vauxhall conference

Isn't it something like the team that knocks out the previous winners has always gone through to the final and lost? Oh dear

I'm afraid that the CL bears almost no resemblance to the old European Cup at all, other than some of the games in the CL are played over 2 legs.

Statistics show that it was alot easier to retain the trophy before, whereas the CL now allows at least 3 top sides from each major footballing country to participate in the competition. This has made things tougher because from the QF's onwards the bigger footballing nations come to the fore, whereas before, you would have some lesser footballing countries represented right up till the semi's.

Nope, otherwise we'd have got to the final last season.

The team who knock out Real Madrid never win it though! (Liverpool this season!)

I have never doubted Eto"o he is a top quality striker who we could have bought if Wenger had sold Greedy for £24m.But i must hold my hands up and say this time last season i thought TH14 was finished at the highest level.God was i wrong

I want barca to win, think they will BUT I cant believe chelsea are being so underated. If they play a tough game and try and kick them off the pitch (which I can see them doing) then chelsea have a chance.
Im hoping for a Henry hatrick :barscarf:
