know bugger all about either of 'em, however this is more the sort of player (ie cheap) that wenger signs. (having said that he's not 12!!)

if we sold ade i dont think he would be anybodys first choice as a replacement.

But it sounds like a wenger buy, he will cost around Â£7m so if ade goes we will yet again be making a profit and probably not re investing it in the team, he is playing in france and it came from auclair who is well respected.

Marouane Chamakh: Although he stated he would remain with Bordeaux when they picked up the Ligue 1 trophy only a matter of weeks ago, that appears to have been public pressure speaking rather than the mouth of one of Le Championnatâ€™s top strikers. Itâ€™s about 80 per cent likely that Chamakh will move to the Premier League in the summer, a destination where he is sure to prove a success. Though his finishing on the deck may be suspect at times, his hold-up play is excellent and there is not a striker better in the air in France. Managed 13 goals last season, but it was his all-round game that impressed. He will prove irreplaceable.

Its very tough to judge a player without actually having seen him play properly. Didier Drogba came from france and he's done very well for himself. If Adebayor does go (and i wouldnt be surprised if he did) I think this would be an ideal signing. Technically gifted (Van Persie, Vela) Fox in the box (Eduardo) Good in the air (Bendtner, Chamakh) Pure pace (Walcott) we'll still have the same mixture up top but would have possibly made Â£10 million to go with it

I fail to see the logic of this deal

Why buy a striker that is shit with the ball on the deck but is dynamite when you consider that we have the likes of theo, sagna and clichy supplying these crosses

These 3 players that I have mentioned bring positives to our team but crossing ability is nowhere near one of them

Anyway this team that we now have is a football team first and foremost and we would have to change our gameplan to maximise a player with his traits and this is something that we are already seeing with bedtner. Personally I would rather stick with bedtner and use the 10m elsewhere than buy another target man

While I feel we need a new striker not sure about this guy, but I haven't seen him play so I can't really judge. He's probably play out wide anyway!

Arsenal Could Use Philippe Senderos As Bait For Fiorentina's Felipe Melo â€“ Report

According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mail, Philippe Senderos may be used as a make-weight as Arsenal step-up their pursuit of Fiorentina's Felipe Melo.

It was reported on Wednesday that the Gunners are interested in acquiring the services of 25-year-old Melo this summer.

Apparently, manager of the north London outfit, Arsene Wenger, has been casting his eye over the combative midfielder for the past three years.

It was claimed that Arsenal were readying an offer of â‚¬17.7 million (Â£15m) in the hope of landing the five-time capped Brazil international, who is currently with the Selecao at the Confederations Cup.

However, it seems that the Viola may insist that 24-year-old centre-back Philippe Senderos is included in any potential deal.

Having fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, the 31-time capped Switzerland international spent last season on loan at Milan, and it appears that his performances attracted the attention of the Gigliati.

It is thought that Senderos would welcome a return to Italy for the 2009-10 campaign and it is suggested that Fiorentina may be willing to cash-in on Melo.

That would be a good bit of bussiness but must admit dont know fucka ll about Melo apart from that he gets a shit load of cards! Phil wants to stay in Italy, we want a from what i heard, 'tough tackling' midfielder so a giving them phil and a bit of cash sounds like a good deal and would make Arsenal and Senderos happy, dont know about Fierentina though!

Bassong opens exit talks

Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong has revealed that he is in talks with two clubs regarding a summer move.

The Frenchman, who has committed his international future to Cameroon, was powerless to prevent the Magpies slipping out of the Premier League last season and was expected to be among those seeking an exit from St James' Park during the transfer window.

The commanding centre-half has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, while Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham are also believed to be keen.

It now appears to be only a matter of time before the 22-year-old, who only joined Newcastle from Metz last July, will be on his way out of Tyneside.

Bassong has refused to reveal the identity of those clubs that have made an initial approach for his services, but he has admitted that discussions have been opened.

"I have started to negotiate with two English clubs," he told Aujourd'hui Sport.

Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen has claimed he will undergo a medical at Arsenal on Friday ahead of his proposed move to the Premier League.

Reports have strongly linked Vermaelen with a switch to the Gunners in recent weeks, although manager Arsene Wenger has yet to comment on the speculation.

The Belgium international's agent recently suggested an agreement was close, with a four-year contract said to be on the table.

Vermaelen has explained how he plans to head to North London at the end of this week as he looks to tie up a reported Â£10million switch.

"The signature is not there yet, but everything is in order," Vermaelen told Gazet van Antwerpen.

"On Friday I will fly to London to undergo a medical. Then I hope to sign."

He continued: "I feel so proud. Arsenal is a fantastic club, and as a child I watched them play.

"On Friday, if I go to Emirates Stadium I will be seriously impressed.

"This will be a big change in my life, next year I will suddenly be facing the best strikers in the world.

"This does not scare me, I will give everything my body has.
