Eboue

eboue is a quality player. He had a bad game but he has just come back from injury.

Anyway, dont let me keep anyone from attacking players, else this forum would be bare :P

Not with IHH providing quality non-football jokes

And not to mention all the discussions about tits. You'd think they'd never seen them before! :)

And I agree in as much that consideration should be taken of his recent return from injury.

I still cant figure out how certain papers gave him MOTM for the Carling Cup tie v Newcastle... woz he not substituted after bout 60mins??

Lauren came to us as a midfielder and AW turned him into a defender..... is he not trying something similar with Eboue just in reverse... ??

Yes, he is. I think he saw Eboue's pace going forward as more positive than his defending abilities, hence Sagna signing.

The problem is that Eboue's delivery and link play is patchy at best, and nowhere near the level of Rosciky or Hleb.

Perhaps AW sees potential for him on the right with a bit more experience.

Give Eboue a bit of time to adapt, a change of position + injury has had him pretty disappointing, but I'm willing to give him benefit of the doubt until January....

Is he not off to ANC in Jan???

In fairness he has electric pace but its no good without an end product... i.e. a floated cross 4 the likes of Van Persie & Adebayor to pounce on.

The same worries me about Walcott, mind he's still young and lacks experience, he tends to use his electric pace pass out defenders easily only to run straight into a corner.

He will be going in Jan along with Toure and Adebayor.

And the end product is the problem with Eboue and indeed Walcott. Eboue in that he's playing in a different position and Walcott in that he's learning the game still and getting used to first team football. Whether they are capable of delivering is another thing.

They are also, with much of the team, learning how to make the right decisions at the the right time - something which our more experienced players exhibted masterfully. When it is right to pass, when it is right to shoot (and not when the crowd tell you).

Hleb could've shot last night, but laid it on a plate for Fabregas. Right choice. Adebayor squared it at least twice when the better option was to shoot. Wrong choice.

Please can we stop this "SHOOT" thing as soon as we get near the box.

comon guys he just start playing in the midfield, give him some time and he will be a great winger, how can you guys forget what hi did to RM in champions league, he can drible coast to coast, and noone cant stop him, dont unrate him, he cant defend i agree but he can drible and he can attack.

i love Eboue but get REALLY frustrated because quite often he gets into a good position coming from the right wing towards the oposition goal but never shoots or loses the ball. If only he was taught how to just SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT when he is in a good range of the oposition goal and might get a few more per season.
