patrick vieira - you cannot be serious!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It wouldn't surprise me to see PV4 turn out for scum. I would be very disappointed if he did. I won't boo him but I wouldn't cheer him either.

Don't do it Paddy!

You guys must be kidding.

It's fair to say that PV4 will be/or possibly already is considered a legend at the club. As soon as he pulls on their top, the respect goes straight out the window. As a former player/skipper he know's all about the rivalry.

There are other clubs that would be interested in signing him, it's his choice. Let's hope he makes the right one.

I don't care if he is 67 and has had a leg amputated. I don't care if he only plays 12 minutes for them. I just never want to see an Arsenal god wearing that fucking cockerel on a basketball on his chest!

100% agree
do we mean so little too him :? for him to do that is more then a slap in the face to gooners everywhere

I'd take it like a kick in the balls if he signed with those *word censored*. Dont wanna see an Arsenal legend in a scum shirt. Ever!

I echo a lot of the sentiments on here, its not about what he's like as a player now, its about what he was and who he is to Arsenal. Hell if spurs went mad and signed up Lee Dixon 2moro I'ld be gutted.

For me it would be incredibly gutting, and would be a slap in the face to us. He knows the rivalry, what is he expecting from the Arsenal fans? plus the spurs fans will always be against him (that lot are always like that) so just like George Graham, he'ls have flushed his legacy away for nothing. Graham has managed slightly to regain some of the respect but I will never forgive him for what he did. And we don't need to hear Redknapp coming out and saying Thierry suggested he'ld be good for spurs!

The thing is, if he does sign for them, and he runs out at Ashburton with a spurs shirt on, how am I supposed to react?! I think I will be compelled to rant at him, I don't want to, but I feel the moment would cause me to. I'm just hoping Pires can get on the phone and tell him not to be so stupid!

Swale,

I am not digging you out here as we have had the odd bicker on here but I find it incredible that you express the attitude that you do with regards to Viera.

This guy was immense for us and is held up as a God and rightly so amongst us Gooners.

To see him in a spuds shirt would be morempainful than seeing a still loved ex in bed with a bloke you have always hated.

Think of Ian Wright ina Tottingham shirt! it just aint right!

Remember the hate The Heebs had for Campbell joining us? Some things just shouldn't be done!

I agree 100% with Percy and Rebel and others on here. IT'S THE FUCKING SCUM FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!

I was fucking gutted when George went there. To see PV4 line up in that fucking jersey??!! FUCK NO!

The youth of today have no idea sometimes to be honest. If they had stood on the terraces and dodged darts and coins at places like old shatford and the Drain then they might understand the tribal element in this.

We are GOONERS. PV4 is a GOONER legend.

Fuck the scum. :banghead:

Just realised I sounded like an old man in that 3rd paragraph!!

But, fuck it - I still mean it. 8)

I re-read his autobiography last month and his love of Arsenal appeared to come through. He spoke of knowing the importance of the Spurs game and how he loved scoring against them and, in particular, winning the Title there.

If he goes to Tottenham it will prove that all the words are empty and he has no love for Arsenal or the fans of Arsenal.

I'm very worried about this Vieira is one of my faves and the thought of him playing for those wankers fills me with dread. Come on Paddy you must have other offers

Maybe it is because I just cannot see this happening that I seem to reacting a lot less agressively than most :? To me he is a true Gooner legend and along with Bergkamp is by far and away my biggest hero over the last 20 odd years and maybe ever. 8) I really dont think he will go there and I agree that it will sully his rep with us somewhat if he does but I just cannot see myself booing him for it
