Zidane says we bid 17 million for Huntelaar

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ah but 15 million quid is a "ridiculous" price for "his sort".

It's 15m euros, so approx. £13m.....not bad at all for an established international with one of the top european national sides and a guy who has a fantastic goalscoring record throughout his career.

There's no way Arsenal made a bid for him, absolute bollox.

Fact is, Wenger doesn't like signing a big name, an established player so we'll go for another bargain basement waste of space. It's 'fuck you Arsenal fans' once again :(

His name is not TOO big and he failed at Madrid so if want to get young quality players at a reasonable prize you have to go for him.

There is no concrete evidence here. Some how I can't see AW bidding 17m for anyone this summer.

Fee is meant to be 12.7m stg so not alone is it a reasonable fee for a proven goalscorer but it is well within our price range too. The thing is that most of us do not believe wenger has gone anywhere near buying the guy - he aint french, he aint african, he didnt come from the french league and he costs more than a packet of hubba bubbas and a walkers salt & vinegar   I too would be of the opinion that this is a planted story to suggest that wenger and the board are trying to bring quality players to the club.......yet another example of these *word censored* taking us as fools

we would not have gotten him for that price.

Milan got him cheaper because of the Kaka deal.

I just dont get that notion hadarued :? Surely if we matched their bid then madrid would be obliged to let the guy speak to us ? If, and I know that it is a big if, huntelaar wanted to join us and play in the premier league then wouldnt he kick up a right fuss if an identical bid from us was rejected ?

You the broker or you just got some inside knowledge of the deal?
If thats the case why dint Milan just tell Real to give them Huntelaar and cut Kaka's price

Choice between joining one of Europes Biggest clubs steep in History and European glory or joining a club who's ambition is to finish fourth and hope for a good cup run...............Tough choice
