Just want to say to all the gooners who travelled up to Glasgow last night great effort people. We outsung a very nervous home crowd with plenty of pisstaking on the way!!
"Should of gone to see the U2
You Should of gone to see the U2!!!"
Pure clowning.
7 hour drive home, 5am arrival, 45 mins sleep and off to work,
Loved it!!!

What a night. The first thing I must say is Celtic fans are a credit to there club. Every one of them we met was friendly and helpful. We had a drink with some in town who then walked us to the ground laughing and joking all the way. A number of them offered us advice on how to get back to our hotel/town as we walked. I have been to a few European away games but they were the best fans I have ever met.
946 mile round trip about 20 hours of travelling in the car but it was worth it. Our support was fantastic. I don’t know how it sounded on TV but we out sung them all night.
P.S. Good effort Worthing Gooner, Top Man. Did you drive? if so how many miles did you do?

I would guess directional microphones.Rob wrote:jaggygooner wrote:celtic fans were shit including their only song walk on. reminded me of newcastle fans living on the past but know their outclassed nowadays,"its all so quiet, its all so quiet, its all so quiet at parkhead" easy game and we outsung them for the whole match, did it sound like that on the tv
The Sky coverage in the pub did not make it sound that way.
Also Gooners were out of camera shot for the whole game.
And in the studio.....ex Celtic manager plus two ex spurs players.
Conspiracy theory? Or is the truth out there?

SPUDMASHER wrote:For me the main positive of the night was that we showed we can fight. "Win ugly" has been something that we've not been able to do for some time but last night we did exactly that. Two lucky goals but hey, when was the last time we got lucky?
There were weaknesses in the team last night, mostly up front, but it was good to see that the defence and midfield carried the fight to Celtic. Even Denilson did well and you won't hear that from me too often.
I'm no rosetinter but i'm struggling to find much to moan about following that.
Rosetinter!!!

Yes our away support are always very good as they were on Tuesday but it's always feels like your making all the noise when your in the middle of a few thousand singing together, but in reality the only time you could hear our support from other parts of the ground for the majority of the game was when the Celtic support quitened down and when they went very quiet towards the end, but thats only to be expected when your outnumbered 11-1.
Even so it was nice to hear our support giving a good account of themselves when they were able to be heard, it surprised my grandad, he was expecting our soft southerner support to be too up themselves to make any real noise, i had to explain that our average away supporter is a totally different beast to our average home supporter.
As for the game, it was a possible banana skin there are a lot of things could have went wrong, we came through relatively comfortably and they never really threatened us, we couldn't really ask for anything more.
The performance was all it had to be and the result has already put the tie out of reach for them, job done, banana skin out the way.
With regards the formation, i don't think we should get too bogged down in whether it works or not, i expect we will adapt our formation to suit different opposition and different situations within a game, in some games this formation will work and some it won't, flexibility will be the key.
