Breaking News....Eduardo charged

Post by SPUDMASHER »

Don't know the full details yet but it is something to do with deceiving the referee.

Not a piss-take...actually on the BBC site :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Interesting prescedent. Let's hope UEFA take action when that fat shrek looking *word censored* takes his usual dive tomorrow.

Not too upset about this, divers should be punished, but why now, and why was Young's dive last night ignored?

On a slightly more positive note, our CL group is sooo fucking easy, we can put the reserves out anyway :barscarf:

So basically now the precedent is set. Any player who commits an offence not picked up by the referee can be retrospectively punished.

So diving, off the ball shenanigans, sly digs etc. are all a thing of the past. Football has been cleaned up!!

LIKE FUCK IT HAS :banghead:

Players have been diving, simulating whatever the fuck you want to call it, for 40 fucking years and now the decide to act??

FUCK OFF UEFA, FUCK OFF PLATINI.

If Eddie was punished for diving during the match he would have got a yellow card. Now he's gonna get a 2 match ban because it was looked at after the match.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

UEFA = FARCE.

It's just so unfair....If Eduardo gets punished, all divers should be treated the same way :banghead: :banghead:

Ridculous, I agree what he did was wrong, clearly wrong in fact, but why has it taken so long, and for an Arsenal player to do so, for Uefa to act on this?

If this is now a consistant rule going forward then i guess its for the greater good - but IMO this is a dangerous precedent to set, and a harder one to implement.

Also, can UEFA act if the Ref hands out a yellow card? if if a player is booked for diving, can he then be banned??

Well there you go, precedent set. I expect UEFA to be very busy over the coming weeks and months with this sort of thing. Presumably it doesn’t just relate to incidents where the player gets away with it, attempts to deceive the ref are attempts whether they are successful or not. I also presume it doesn’t just relate to penalty incidents but “divingâ€

On a brighter note.....Stevie G, Drogba, Torres, Ronaldo, Rooney et al should have a lot of free weekends this season when UEFA applies this across the board.

I have no problem with him getting punished for this. Dress it up in any way you want to and it is still cheating...end of!

What pisses me off is that it will not be applied across the board. It won't apply in the premiership, just Uefa competitions, and as soon as either Gerrard, Rooney, Owen, Drogba, and the other usual suspects do it then it will be a different story. There'll be insufficient evidence etc.

Fucking UEFA, bunch of *word censored*

I am glad Eduardo has been punished but if he is the only player to be punished then it is a sham and shows that Platini and UEFA hate english clubs especially arsenal

If this is applied consistently to all teams then its a wonderful move. But I almost sure that it won't be.

See, doing this now, at the start of the group phase, UEFA can big themselves up and tell everyone how good they are - look, can't you see the efforts they've made to combat diving? They've banned Eduardo, therefore they are serious about this.

Rubbish.

It was an easy pick for them and as soon as the world's favourites start with their acts UEFA and their retrospective cameras will be blind.

Does anyone have a link to Ashley Young's dive? I hope he is charged too in this case...

I'm so fucking angry

If I had to choose right now between a 17 hour love marathon with Bea's massive jugs or the chance to smash that twisted bitter fucking smurf headed cu*t Platini's smug head in..........I'd still pick Bea.

But it would be a close one!

The whole thing is another example of anti-arsenal euphoria that has always existed in the british tabloid press and beyond.
19 months ago Eduardo had his leg smashed in a vicious tackle by a thug in a brum shirt. The media re-action was to jump to the thugs defence, claiming he was a nice lad who wouldn’t hurt a fly and so on, almost to the extent were it could almost have been Eduardo’s own fault for being “too skilfulâ€

check this out, the 3rd comment down the page:

Look at 0.26 and you can clearly see Gamst's left foot make contact with Sagna's knee and you can even see it move sideways as Sanga is running across him. This throws him off balance.

you couldn't make it up
