Stoke are poor. We should beat them. Problem is, if we do beat them then the aforementioned cracks will indeed be papered over by Wenger (and it's not even good quality paper - it's a kind of piss sodden see through type paper that tears if blown on).
Then we will just roll on as before, beating the shite teams and getting beaten by the better teams ad infinitum...
I'm going for 3-1 (we ALWAYS condede at least one) to the Arse.

3-1 I think, Stoke are not as crap as some think and play to their strengths but they did that last season and we still beat them 4-1.
I think there will be an odd atmosphere in the ground on Sat, if the result goes badly then I think some might turn, I'm already hearing a lot of negativity around Arshavin where I sit and it seems like patience is wearing thin.

Christ mate - the ammount of games exactly like that I've sat through over the years!NBM wrote:1-1. We'll dominate possession without penetrating. Concede from a set piece after the half hour mark, batter them the second half, draw level with ten to play then finally play with some intensity trying to get the win but leave it too late....

Was thinking the same as I typed it. I found that alcohol helps!DB10GOONER wrote:Christ mate - the ammount of games exactly like that I've sat through over the years!NBM wrote:1-1. Must win game, with the mousers next up, a poor result on Saturday could see us drop out of the top 4.
I think we will win on Saturday, albeit unconvincingly. It will be hailed by Wenger with the usual comments about showing great mental strength etc etc. But I don't think anyone with an ounce of sense will buy it.
The writing is on the wall for Wenger and I can't fucking wait.

A good assessment.Magic Hat wrote:Stoke are a decent side but we are at home, we should win this one
The current Arsenal can beat mid-table teams at home with their eyes closed and Stoke is a useful game to have after 3 bad defeats.
However - the biggest tests will be in 10 days time at Anfield, after a long trip to Greece and 13 days time at chilly Burnley - the sort of game that we are prone to crumble in.
But at least we'll have Alex Song back for those 2 matches after his essential suspension. Once that midfield bully / genius / powerhouse / marauder gets a run in the team we'll stop conceding sloppy goals like David Dunn's or Carlos Tevez's. . . . . . . .

Alex Song =
