STOKE CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A good assessment.

The current Arsenal can beat mid-table teams at home with their eyes closed and Stoke is a useful game to have after 3 bad defeats.

However - the biggest tests will be in 10 days time at Anfield, after a long trip to Greece and 13 days time at chilly Burnley - the sort of game that we are prone to crumble in.

But at least we'll have Alex Song back for those 2 matches after his essential suspension. Once that midfield bully / genius / powerhouse / marauder gets a run in the team we'll stop conceding sloppy goals like David Dunn's or Carlos Tevez's. . . . . . . .  hope this is a joke. song is shite

Alex Song = :pixie2:

It certainly is a joke Harry0.

1 or 2 people seem to want to ***** over Alex Song's every sideways pass but I'm not one of them.

He showed once again last night that he is about as close to being a top class defensive midfielder as Julian Clary is.

As I said Alex Song = :pixie2:

I really hope our players are hurting as much as us supporters are.

We've had disasters against Sunderland and Chelsea.

Now is the time to go the extra mile.

Stoke need to be taken very, very seriously. They can hurt us from set pieces. They won't shy away from tackles. And will believe that a point, or three, is a real possibility.

In short, we need to stop fucking about. And get stuck in.

Prediction.....4-1 to us, or, 0-1 to them. :?

I will torment myself by going to watch our team of girls run rings around a team of hunky bruisers.

However, despite 60%+ possession and numerous weak and mis-directed shots I suspect Stoke will take the solitary chance that will surely come their way (through another defensive cock up) and beat us by a goal.

I expect to lose because the team spirit has evaporated again due to the loss of our main, in-form striker, 3 losses on the spin (don't count Liege!) and a team of short-arsed weaklings.

I lose faith in the game when highly skilled, highly paid players like AA seem to lose interest and let the fee paying customers down. He was fantastic when he first joined but he must have caught the lethargy virus that Ade must have left in the changing rooms.

That's funny...

The thing is there shouldn't be any excuses after a long trip to Greece, we should have our celebrity 11 out that game, so no 'first' team players will be 'risked' Then again, Walcott didn't play last night, and he's fucking injured again..... (Oh well, at least he's about as useful as a chocolate ashtray on a motorbike) :?

I dont think that Wenger knows hes fucked up, and even if he did he would never admit it, and although he is in a position to do something about it theres just too much that needs to be done and I cant see Wenger doing it, and I doubt very much that hes hurting as much as we are, just my opinion
