Lethal , the fact that he did nothing of that yesterday proves my point about people damning him before he walks on the pitch.

Sounds like you were describing Gerrard to be honest

It seems some rose-tinters are wearing 3D versions of their glasses!!

The guy couldn't pass water yesterday and did little bar giving soft free-kicks away - including the one that lead to the Liverpool goal (due in part to his inability to tackle properly). He truely was awlful in all aspects of the game yesterday and even cocked up a throw-in near the Liverpool box just before half time. The few times he did manage to intercept were usually down to the poor quality of the Liverpool pass, and even then he proceded to waste the opportunity to do something with it by either under/over/mis-placing the pass.

I know football is all about opinions but really BDB and Hadarued....

i thought denilson played well yesterday. not outstanding, but efficient. he regained posession for us a few times, made some nice interceptions and was usually in a good position.

i like the lad. simple, efficient, and probably one of our only players capable of a nice long shot.

Plus, the early booking he received (unjustly) meant he had to have a composed game - which he did - dont understand why people do not accept that he is not a bad player at all, and should be given credit when its due! 8)
 :o

Sorry, mate but you need to sit down and watch that game again. Denilson was appalling... simply the worst I've seen him play and that is saying something! Cesc at least improved (a little) in the 2nd half but Denilson was bad from beginning to end.

Song was ok, but he's starting to try and be a midfield playmaker again and he was caught in possession too often yesterday as a result. He needs to go back to the simplified game he has been playing well at recently.

And erm... Eboue carrying "the ball forward effectively"??!! Really...? :?
completely disagree - Denilson was fine yesterday, as for Song - he was outstanding!!! The reason Song had to be a little bit more expansive was because Cesc was annoymous, and with Walcott in the team everbody has to cover him, hence why Gallas had to keep coming over to support Sagna. Hence, Song had more groound to cover. Not every player has to do something outstanding, and Denilson was absolutely fine, its not Fifa!!!

Eboue is one of the best dribblers in the team, brings the ball forward well - its only when he gets to the box and has a nosebleed thats the problem!!

Agree to disagree - but Denilson was fine, and Song was outstanding - again.
I... just... give... up. There's being rosetinted and then there's being just silly. Deffo agree to disagree... :?
Silly? Its an opinion and one shared by a few on here. Maybe you cant give credit to these two players specifcially as you spent the summer going on about how shit they were?
No, you are not getting away with that one, mate. I call them exactly as I see them. I stand by my comments - Eboue, Denilson and Diaby are poor players and Song is the only one of them that has made any improvement - and that is because his role in midfield has been simplified. Yesterday Song tried to over elaborate again and was caught in possession because of it. I still do not believe Song is good enough at that level - as was seen against Chelsea. That is a midfield capable of winning a league. Ours (at present) isn't.

If anyone is making comments to try and save face, it's you. I can quite happily say Song or Eboue or Denilson or Diaby have had a good game IF THEY HAVE ACTUALLY HAD A GOOD GAME. You on the other hand cannot bring yourself to admit when one of these players has been awful.

And try and back your arguments without cheap childish shots like "it's not FIFA 10" or "they can't all be doing flicks and tricks".

No one has ever said they have to be doing that. No one wants them to be doing that. But we also don't want them firing the ball into touch 5 yards behind their intended target whilst under no pressure, or giving away stupid fouls in danger areas, or losing possession cheaply, or struggling to "run" back 20 yards, or getting caught standing square on as a poxy chav comes running at them and then flies past them with a simple drop of the shoulder! :banghead:

you call them as I see them? So do I, incidentally.

I thought Denilson was our best central midfielder yesterday. and I don't know why everyone thinks that this is rose-tinting. On the whole our central midfield was poor, Cesc was infective and Song, in my opinion, had his worst game all season. He gave the ball away, his positioning was suspect at times and he hardly won any balls.

Denilson on the other hand did. His passing was good for the most part, he made plenty of interceptions and he won tackles. Actual stats back me up. Yep, stats. The things that are so useless. According to those Denilson made 7 interceptions compared to Song's 4, won 9 tackles and lost 2 compared to Song winning 1 and losing 2 and completed 49 of his 55 passes compared to Song completing 38 out of 49.

He kept the ball moving and he won the ball back. His foul on Mascherano for the free kick wasn't a foul imo.

I don't think Denilson was outstanding yesterday by any means, none of our players were. But he was decent and he put in a lot of work that allowed us to come back into the game. If you don't appreciate that work I can't help you. But don't declare others that do as stupid and don't for one second think that your opinion is worth more than that of others.

In the end it all comes down to one thing when calling them as you see them - my superior eyesight

you should write a blog, or a fanzine, or something like that, hadareud. your posts are always the most intelligent ones, in my opinion, even though they are usually simple and right to the point.

but the fact that i just said i find your posts to be always brilliant probably just diminished the level of your status in here

write more often, mate! 8)
