I won’t be renewing my season ticket if… (8/10)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So you would just ignore anyone or anything that happened in the boardroom. Ridiculous - it affects Arsene Wenger, which affects the football, which affects US! Just sit back and think about it.

In conclusion, I understand the original poster, I don't know if I could give up going to Arsenal for moral reasons - and I do take an interest at what happens at board level when someone of questionable background tries to take over the club at a time when the Management is stable.

For you to have a go at Arsenal fans for kicking up a fuss when the real disruption is being caused by Usmanov and Dein, is for me contemptable.

Oi! Keep your hat on.

I find smear campaigns being carried out on the Internet based on unsubstantiated innuendo's contemptible myself, and who gave you the right to speak for Arsenal supporters anyway? You don't represent my views or many others either from what I can see or hear.

If you can't give up going to watch Arsenal for 'moral reasons' if someone or persons took over the club that you felt strongly about - then you are an hypocrite. Which was the point I made to begin with! That is that people will still support the club and renew their season tickets, including I suspect our outraged originator of this debate - no matter who owns AFC. All of your moral outrage is just so much hot air - and an excuse to shout the odds about something in the hope of getting some media attention or whatever. End of.

My hat is off!

You seem to be on course to be the poster who most repeats himself without substanstiating himself (something you ask from Murray apparently), and hopes that eventually everyone believes him.

I know that you find it difficult to back up anything you say, I hope that you accept what I will try now, Just stay with me if you can:

Here is what the original poster said:
I for one won’t be renewing my season ticket if he gets his feet under the table. In fact I doubt I’ll ever set foot in an Arsenal game again. This would really break my heart but I’m not going to have anything to do with a (phrase deleted to avoid legal action) like that.
And you said:
If you cease, for whatever reason, to stop supporting a club, by watching on TV - and attending to matches, then you cease to be a supporter in the literal meaning of that word. So then your point is irrelevant, because you no longer have any allegiance to the club.
Firstly, the guy said he wouldn't set foot in an Arsenal game again. He didn't say he wouldn't continue to support the team and have a deep affection for them. So he does have a point to make.

This is a MORAL DILEMMA for some. Ring any bells??

While I am at it:

Smear campaign - How the f**k do you know? I say be sceptical about Murray, you say dismiss it completely. What should Murray be talking about then - the price of milk?? What if Murray even has it 20% right?

I represent myself - I only say that there are people who want to do something because they are on this thread, on the general chat part of the forum, at the Arsenal Shareholders Trust - as well as those who either are not interested, dont't want to get involved. Fine. It's not my position.

Hypocrite - No! I never said I would or could - I said it would be a difficult one to deal with morally for me. People with the same moral outlook will go about this in different ways and different outcomes. It doesn't mean that we shouldn't try and do something - regardless of how far your prepared to go. Just look at protest against internment and against the poll tax. People with the same moral standpoint go about things in different ways and how far they go also. I said this much in Page 1.

As for the rest of your post - just ignorant posturing from someone who spends their time choosing to have a go at their own people - ARSENAL FANS - than concentrate his efforts on what is really de-stabilising our club. (Something you have continually chosen not to answer???)

Maybe you should save some of this for the spuds or mancs.

Shame on you!

End of???????

End of???????
Where to start!
Firstly 'the guy' says he's never going to set foot at an Arsenal match again if Usmanov gets his feet under the table. Well he's already got them under it .So he's gone, or has he? Second ' the guy' ( well bomb-fire night is approaching! ) says that he is "not going to have anything to do with" - words then deleted - supposedly for legal reasons, but in fact for dramatic effect.
Now this, ' not going to have ANYTHING to do with,' must mean AFC if Usmanov takes over, so this encompasses more than giving up his season ticket.
I don't know who this guy is actually, or even if he has a season ticket, he could be a wind up merchant, but, I will presume that he is genuine for the sake of argument.
This to me is an over reaction to the Usmanov affair, if he feels that strongly about the issue then he should be away NOW , given the huge stake that Usmanov has in AFC and setting an example for others .
He obviously intended his post to hopefully attract supporters to his cause, otherwise why post it?
Now again I don't know if he will carry out his threat to give up supporting Arsenal - we do know however that you yourself are not going to do so !!
So really as I have pointed out it's all a load of hot air from self righteous Mr Angry's.
Murray doesn't give a toss about football, he's just using you for his own nefarious purposes . You say that' suppose he's 20% right about Usmanov,' well this 'suppose' is not good enough - he needs to be 100% right in his allegations , and if he is then Usmanov would not be allowed into the UK. Now, when Murray produces evidence of his allegations, I will support him .
Incidentally I am in favour of the current board remaining in control of the club. And in the unlikely event of myself being given any say in the matter would vote for that . But if the board fail to hold on to their control of the club and Usmanov does plonk himself in the big chair then I will judge him on how he operates, and I don't need lectures from publicity seeking morons like Murray about this. He either should put up the evidence regarding his claims legally , and stop resorting to nasty smear tactics on the Internet - or shut the f*ck up!

My advice to you is to get off your high horse and cut out the lecturing .

Ding Dong!!

Redbull, you are well named, and very repetitive. But your sneering snidey attitude towards Craig Murray (and most of the Arsenal fans who happen to have a different opinion to you) is just prejudice. Apparently Usmanov should be given the keys to the club, and then you will judge him, but Murray is to be judged now, on the basis of no evidence at all.

In fact Craig Murray is one of the few, if not only, people in a position to have some knowledge about Usmanov and his history in Uzbekistan. It is well known that Murray was the victim of a smear campaign because he put his job on the line and spoke out against the appalling torture there, which the British and American governments turned a blind eye to. See here:

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/foreigna ... 39,00.html

You blather on about Murray having to prove 'legally' what he says. I believe he is in the process of that, and has invited Usmanov to take him to court, instead of hiding behind libel threats against internet servers etc. where he will be delighted to present his evidence. Why doesn't Usmanov take the opportunity to silence his foremost critic? You keep throwing misleading accusations against other fans and their arguments (such as there will be disruption of games etc). If anybody is on a high horse and acting like an arrogant lecturer, it is you, my friend. Everybody else has put in decent and valid points, but you don't listen.

(Cue another lengthy misinformed and patronising diatribe from the highest horse in the OK Corral...)

Into The Red , ( sounds like a Liberal/New Labour budget that handle!) it's you and your pals on here who are snide sneering and patronising berks - and riding high horses. Or more like Asses... he-haw!
That link you gave provides not one iota of proof to support Murrays claims , unless you believe in raving bonkers conspiracy theories , which Murray himself is an advocate of.
Lefty Liberal paranoia at work there. So you know what you can go and do with your patronising diatribe .
Anyone who takes Murray seriously is obviously either an idiot or a deluded well meaning fool.
Save the preaching for those who are susceptible to your paranoid nonsense. I am not ( yawn) impressed. I would wager that you believe in UFO's!!!!

Thanks old bull, your ravings confirm my diagnosis of your daft political prejudices. Your expertise on Uzbek politics is quite remarkable, given your obvious knowledge of the place.

redbull - by all means throw loads of random accusations at murray (without the burden of proof you demand of others)
but surely you must accept an ex-ambassador of uzbekistan knows more about the country than you...?

I don't dispute this, but Murray is a political activist and was suspended by the UK government , who also know more about Uzbekistan than I do.
By the way have you got some problem with the caps lock on your PC? Because it's customary to use capital letters to denote countries names - and football stadia.
Murray has made other unproven, or even crazed accusations, notably his ones about the liquid bombs on air lines being a CIA and MI5 plot!
He's a well known loony conspiracy theories merchant , so I treat any allegations made by him with a great deal of caution.
And Stalinist ba ba sheep like follow the leader type mentality football supporters , who like to herd together waving banners, are to me a big turn off also.. stick to the football - and give the politics a swerve on here is my advice...

a 'political activist' hmmm - his anti-human rights abuses (ie anti-Karimov) attitude didn't fit in with "Britain's" (the GOP's) foriegn policy.
If political appointee's really got the spanish archer 4a bit of drinking and a bit of extra-curricular nooky there would be no1 left 2do the job.

As 4yr request 4 'customary' capitals - its also 'customary' 2not b a total knob with no care 4yr club, its customary 2not make wild evidence free accusations about activism, 'nefarious activities' etc etc then complain about others arguments not have corrobarative evidence (obv no1 will sue u - Murray is desper8 4Usmanov 2give him his day in court)

neither the CIA nor MI5 (nor mossad, cambridge and oxford universities, MIT etc etc) have the technical capacity to make stable dual ingredient liquid explosives
which suggests 2me the whole 'plot' was a diversionary fiction rather than a conspiracy

give the politics a swerve.... ?!? an idiotic argument
life is politics

giving politics a swerve is sitting back and lettin others rule your life.
I'm spending today emailin everyone I know to join AISA, red action and AST. On saturday I'll be handing out balloons

because I love my club and there's very little that is as important and key a part of my life.

Well, what to say! But other than that after this nonsense, which comes over like those of the ravings of a deranged mind , attempting to cover up, by the unfunny use of text-speak , an obvious lack of the basic knowledge of elementary grammar - plus added on inane political nonsensical clap-trap - based on unsubstantiated allegations - and posted with an arrogance which is not matched by it's stupidity , I will be from now on be giving you a swerve pal , so goodbye!
Pssst.. don't call me ... I will call you...

deranged...unsubstantiated allegations...political claptrap
hmmm
name them

my post was pretty uncontroversial

mans inability to create even vaguely stable dual ingredient liquid explosives - scientific fact

Britains foriegn policy determined by America's Republican party - yet to hear anyone deny that one

politicians like a drink and a grope - true since time immemorial

which of these seemingly self-evident st8ments where u taking issue with...?

btw my arrogance is not matched by my stupidity...?
in which field am I lacking

Is intelligence any clue?

The liquid bombs ingredients are mixed by the suicide bomber on the spot, so your point on the instability of the liquid is a nonsense, tests have been conducted which prove this can be done, the bombers are not bothered about instability.
It's just another way to go to paradise.
