WENGER SIGNS A STRIKER

:?: Is Sth America the new Africa for players? You use to see clubs buying african players cheap left, right and center.

It's a good scoop considering who else was after him and what i've read and the clips (which are few) i've seen he's looks a great prospect.Even though he won't be here till 2011 he might be able to get into the 1st squad that year so it could be a very good thing. We just have to wait and see.

The one thing that puzzles me is that it's another youngster BROUGHT when we have a very talented youth set up already..i'm not knocking buying youth...but in wengers words ''we don't want kill our youth progress''.Surely there are very talented youngsters here and what does this mean to the young strikers in the reserves?.

When we buy young talented youngsters, especially from abroad, wengers statement on our youth come to mind.I'm not knocking it and it's great to see potential coming here and i can't wait to see the results,it's just sometimes i think wenger ought to sit back and actually see where the money really needs to go.

again guys, direct you anger to the fact that we don't sign enough experienced players. i'll agree with you. signing good prospects on the other hand is NOT the wrong thing to do, as it usually pays off. you keep the likes of fabregas and sell the likes of bentley - it's good anyways.
Brazilian,

No-one is knocking the signing of these youngsters per se, just bemoaning the fact that, regardless of how good they are/will be, we need players for the here and now. For what it's worth I think it's a good thing that we're competing with the other top clubs for the best youngsters in the world.

However, they should be supplementary to signing players that are ready to boost the team immediately. Especially as almost all gooners agree there's a desperate need to if we're going to give ourselves a proper chance at winning a trophy this season.

The only difference being that the prices the South Americans are charging for their 'potential' are a whole lot higher!! :banghead: Still, I suppose it's all relative. After all, Man Utd paid almost £13m for Ronaldo - which was considered very expensive - yet as we know, sold him for £80m!! Therefore, that is brilliant business by them in anyone's language. :banghead:

I was reading the inevitable year-end "best and worst transfer" articles and noticed Arshavin and Vermaelen invratiably on the BEST list and (for citeh) Toure on several of the WORST (ffs every back 4 transfer Sparky made could be the worst of the year). Adebayour makes a couple bad buy lists.

I like what's happening with the team, and I pray Bendtner is a revelation in late January. He's the kind of striker we need: big, decent skill, adjusted to the Prem and eligible to play in the CL - if he makes good on his talent.

bG will confirm, but I don't think it's him in the picture and he's only on the 1st video.

Encouraging to hear Wenger's post match interview during which he says we're still short in terms of numbers in the squad, he's confident he'll buy a striker but not close to getting anyone yet though.

There's hope!

i know youtube videos don't mean a thing, but you all have to agree with me that the kid has some alien skills. three short videos (he is the scorer on the first and second, and does the dribbling and passing on the third):
