The most ungrateful fans in the Prem ?
The most ungrateful fans in the Prem ?
No this is not one of the tedious threads that I've seen on here from the Wengerites who are unable to accept the slightest criticism of their beloved idol.
I really would like to know who everyone thinks are the most ungrateful bunch. I am absolutely certain who I think is deserving of this accolade.
Step forward Aston Villa. Now I must admit to taking great delight in their customary Springtime collapse. They are the most deluded bunch in the Premiership since Newcastle departed last May.
Having the cheek to sing about "empty seats" when they won at our place last season, this ungrateful bunch have now started turning on their own manager following their first league defeat of 2010. Taking over from "bankruptcy is my middle name" O'Leary when they were 16th, O'Neill has produced a side that is the best they've had in over 15 years.
Still they can't fill their shitty ground (8,000 empty seats regularly last season when chasing a CL spot), they boo their team off after every home draw (unless against us, Chavs, Mancs, when they observe the code of the Little Club and go into orgasm), they regularly tear into O'Neill in radio phone-ins. Quite the most ungrateful shitebags I've ever come across.....far worse than our own fans contrary to popular belief.
They should remember what they really are, barring one fluke of a European Cup win i.e. a fucking yo-yo side of the 80s and 90s, a team that despite being in the heart of England's 2nd city can't fill their ground even when over achieving.
Bunch of wankers......up there with the Chavs, Mickeys and Spuds as the most loathsome bunch in the Prem

Oh I know that. Having the dubious honour of living in a predominantly Spuds populated town I hear it often. They don't think he's capable of getting them in the top four. Wait for the fall out when they collapse into sixth place between now and May.I Hate Hleb wrote:Believe it or not, there are some spud fans that are unhappy with 'arry!!!![]()

A poor start to next season and come October there'll be a new Messiah going on about "having a squad better than Arsenal and delivering a top four finish"
As predictable as Wenger's Summer spending policy

Well it certainly isn't us. I am fed up with Arsenal Fans moaning at our support !!
Transplant our stadium and in particular our ticket prices anywhere else in this country and see how close you get to filling the place every home game ?
We match up against anyone for loyalty - and I might add, patience

Well get your ears tested then. Block 26 row 2....didn't stop singing. The support was fucking fantastic. At Villa Park a pin could have dropped if they were ever 1-0 down. I agree with Rob - too many moan about our support. Anfield and Villa Park are deathly quiet most of the time and many others too......MutleyGooner wrote:I was in Block 24 next to the Barca fans, there were a few singing but many at the front rows 1 - 18 were astonishingly quiet. Percy and I had a few at Che's. I have to say the young brunette barmaid with the red top and blue hoody does it for me, fucking gorgeous.

Sorry Rob but I am not going to sit here and pretend that our support was fucking fantastic on Wednesday night because for large parts in certain areas of the ground it wasn't. Yes we could hear singing from the other end of the stadium but that was exactly my point, the other end of the stadium. If everyone was to sing up, that place would be a cauldron of noise and intimidating to the opposition, sadly it wasn't.
I am not knocking those that do sing throughout but unfortunately they are the minority. Look how many forum members missed the opportunity to be there on Wednesday night, how fucking frustrating to know that many of the seats in which they could have been sitting and cheering on the Arsenal, were instead occupied by mutes.

The point about the singing is fair enough - although I should point out that the shape of place throws the acoustics more than somewhat, so what may seem loud coming from point A if you are in point B - doesn't sound anything special at point C (if you get my convoluted drift !)
But the original question was one of gratitude not noise. We fill the place out - more or less - every game not just for Barca. We also pay a thumping great price to do so.
Arsenal have no call to doubt our commitment. And as I said, transpose The Emirates anywhere else - at our prices - and see what response the locals give it. We are also far more patient and far less inclined to react negatively than many others - nptably Mancs, Chavs and Scoucers, to name but 3.
Whatever is lamented on Boards like this one, the paying supporters take it on the chin at the Stadium.

Not meaning to change the subject too much, nor indeed do I hope you take offence here, but I'd wonder how many match-goers at the Grove actually are locals. Arsenal can bring a greater support from further afield than other clubs might be able to.Rob wrote:The point about the singing is fair enough - although I should point out that the shape of place throws the acoustics more than somewhat, so what may seem loud coming from point A if you are in point B - doesn't sound anything special at point C (if you get my convoluted drift !)

I would agree with you about the support and it must be people's relative proximity to London and the Arsenal as well as our relative on-going success. Cambridge to Kings Cross is only about an hour or so if I'm not mistaken? And it takes me about an hour to step out of Finsbury Park station having left my house. The fact that the South East is a wealthy area compared with the rest of the country is clearly not lost on those who set ticket prices

I'd say all clubs have ungrateful fans though. My vote would go for those fans who have no desire to attend games but use their team as a reason to slag off others who have just lost to said team...or who support a 'big' team but belittle those who support and love lower league teams... sigh.
I can't really condone that

jesus, expect a massive edit of this. i'm just rambling!!

EDIT: too long did not read!
