As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Not exactly on point, but I had to say something: I've just watched a Sky Sports Classic of our last league game in 2003-2004. This was the game in which we secured the almost unique unbeaten league season record, with a 2-1 win over Leicester. The line-up was:
Edu and Reyes came on as subs, followed by Martin Keown, for his last Gunners appearance.
What a line-up.
I know we're embarking on an exciting new age but just seeing the Invincibles at their peak almost brought a tear to my eye. What a great side. To be honest, even with the unbeaten run and two titles in three years, I never thought they achieved what they could have. But when they played, fucking hell, they played.
Beautiful to see Bergkamp and Vieira combine for a sublime winner, even if it was in front of the North Bank rather than the Clock End. And superb to see a sunny Highbury too. It was even nostalgic to see Arsenal give Leicester a goal start, allowing the distinctly mediocre Dickov (who couldn't get a game in even our shit George Graham tail-end team) to score from that most rare of things, genuine skill from Frank Sinclair. But Frank returned to type when he brought Cashley down for a pen.
Really lovely to see that team again. I hope the new side reaches those heights, but even if they don't, we'll always have the memories.
